Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Formerly Lindeman’s, the cellar door has several options from different winemakers in the area. Staff very knowledgeable and provided complementary history to the wines. Bought the Gunpowder shiraz by a first time maker (connected to the McGuigans) which was quite unique - dare I say, cracking. Attached to Baumé and other specialty shops.

Fabulous couple of hours at Ben Ean on a rainy Sunday morning. Didn't know what to expect as the name conjured thoughts of slim bottled moselle from the 70s. The visit was the highlight of our 7 night stay in the Hunter. Kevin was a great host, relaxed, knowledgeable and a very talented chippy as the decor attests. We know we will be back to enjoy more of the experiences Ben Ean has to offer. Don't forget the providores upstairs, worth a visit too...do these first before the tasting.

Had a wonderful experience at this Cellar Door with Sommelier Elaine who was sooooi knowledgeable about the wines we tasted and the process of winemaking. Once we liked a variety she could even predict what we would also like. Would definitely go back.

A must when visiting the Hunter. Had the best experience with Eileen she certainly knows her wines and could not do enough to ensure that we were looked after.

Had a terrific experience with my mum on a Friday back in September. We arrived before lunch time, and we had this lovely lady Elaine who looked after us the entire time. Elaine was such a joy, we had an amazing time and didn’t want to leave! Elaine was very knowledgeable in all the wines she presented to us and went above and beyond to create an unforgettable memory for my mum and myself. We learnt so much about the region and the wines. It was truly a highlight of our trip and this could have not been possible without Elaine.
If you ever go for wine tasting at Ben Ean, make sure you ask for Elaine.
Thanks Elaine for your wonderful and memorable service, we will be back!

If I could give a 10 out of 5 I would! Elaine, you’re simply amazing…your knowledge of the area and the wines was next level. The Grange tasting was something special and the way Elaine welcomed us was like we were part of the family. I highly recommend a visit to Ben Ean and fingers crossed you’re hosted by Elaine, we’ve been to the Hunter a number of times and this was by far our best experience…loved it, loved it, loved it!!!!!

We arrived hungry and went straight to their "under the veranda" pizza restaurant.
The food came quickly and a pizza was a full meal with a generous serve of toppings. The grounds were in excellent condition.

We booked a Grange wine tasting at the Ben Ean Estate to fulfil a bucket list activity. We had the most wonderful time because our host, Elaine (big E), had so much time to explain the intricacies of Grange and also made this tasting a joyous occasion that will stay with us forever. A really positive experience!
