    Great food
Great food. All share plates and we ate enough for the weekend at lunch! Beautiful food and great service. There is even a winery adjoined so we got a tasting in after lunch as well. Will be back - with a bigger group so we can eat even more
Thank you for your fantastic review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your lunch at Baumé and that the food and service met your expectations. It's wonderful that you also took advantage of the wine tasting after lunch. We hope you enjoyed trying our range of wines. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Amazing experiences with great wine and stories!
We had a great tasting experience with Al, who worked on Mon/Tue only. Al is a very nice guy, great sense of humour, very knowledgeable on wine, history of the winery and whole Hunter region. Weerona Shiraz is the best, Gunpowder is also amazing. We also met Colin and Savannah Peterson, owner of Petersons wine, and got their signatures on their bottles. Overall, amazing experiences at Ben Ean. Highly recommended! Anson Sydney
Hi Anson, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you had an amazing time at Ben Ean. Al will be delighted to know that his humour and knowledge added to your experience—he truly is a gem on our team! We’re also glad you enjoyed the Weerona Shiraz and Gunpowder; they’re among our favourites too. It’s fantastic that you got to meet Colin and Savannah Peterson and even left with signed bottles—what a special keepsake! We look forward to welcoming you back for more great wine and stories in the future. Cheers, The Ben Ean Team

    Definitely recommend
Lovely view and the coffee was equally as beautiful. The gents working (didn’t catch their names but they were English and Irish I believe) were so bubbly and made us feel so welcome. Will definitely come again next time we pass through The Hunter.
Thank you for the kind words! We're delighted you enjoyed the view and the coffee, and that our staff made you feel so welcome. We’ll pass your compliments on to the team! We look forward to welcoming you back next time you're in the Hunter Valley. Safe travels!

    Always a winner
This restaurant never ceases to impress. The service is efficient and friendly, and the food excellent. We had the prawn pasta which was super yummy. Probably only point for improvement would be to NOT put cheese on top. I mean, seafood and cheese, a no, no.
Thank you for your kind words! We’re glad you enjoyed the prawn pasta, and we appreciate your feedback about the cheese – we’ll definitely take this into consideration as we strive to enhance our dishes. We look forward to welcoming you back for more delicious meals and great service!

    Awesome place
We visit here at least once a week, excellent service from Noah and Sarah especially. Great food. One thing, air conditioning might need a look at, also entry doors as they are not good quality. Everything else is great! Regards, G&A Lidbury
Thank you for your ongoing support and for highlighting the excellent service from Noah and Sarah. We’re glad you enjoy the food and appreciate your feedback about the air conditioning and entry doors. We’ll certainly look into these concerns to improve your experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Wow, what a fantastic experience. We had a preordered lunch provided by Ben Ean restaurant for 25 people.
The food was delicious with an abundance of pasta, prawn, lamb, chicken, salads, potatoes dishes. The staff were so lovely and where so friendly.

Had a terrific experience with my mum on a Friday back in September. We arrived before lunch time, and we had this lovely lady Elaine who looked after us the entire time. Elaine was such a joy, we had an amazing time and didn’t want to leave! Elaine was very knowledgeable in all the wines she presented to us and went above and beyond to create an unforgettable memory for my mum and myself. We learnt so much about the region and the wines. It was truly a highlight of our trip and this could have not been possible without Elaine.

If you ever go for wine tasting at Ben Ean, make sure you ask for Elaine.

Thanks Elaine for your wonderful and memorable service, we will be back!

Formerly Lindeman’s, the cellar door has several options from different winemakers in the area. Staff very knowledgeable and provided complementary history to the wines. Bought the Gunpowder shiraz by a first time maker (connected to the McGuigans) which was quite unique - dare I say, cracking. Attached to Baumé and other specialty shops.

Thank you for your wonderful review and for appreciating our knowledgeable staff and the unique Gunpowder Shiraz. We're glad you enjoyed the experience! Just a small clarification: the Gunpowder Wines winemaker, Harrison has ties to the Peterson family, rather than the McGuigans. We're thrilled to hear you found the wine to be cracking! We will pass on your comments & we hope to welcome you back soon. Cheers!

Called in for a tasting and found all the staff very friendly and full of knowledge on the local region. There is more than one wine maker in the family so there is different wines to taste. Cheeses, chocolate, olives and gifts all conveniently located in the one building. As well as the restaurant.

Beautiful wines, incredible history and architecture, friendly people and a well rounded experience. Really special and so entertaining!

Kev knows sooo much about the history, business, wine and really educated you while having a laugh. He’s a gorgeous English-speaking Scotsman who will take you on a journey!

If I could give a 10 out of 5 I would! Elaine, you’re simply amazing…your knowledge of the area and the wines was next level. The Grange tasting was something special and the way Elaine welcomed us was like we were part of the family. I highly recommend a visit to Ben Ean and fingers crossed you’re hosted by Elaine, we’ve been to the Hunter a number of times and this was by far our best experience…loved it, loved it, loved it!!!!!

Fantastic wine journey guided by Big Kevin - imparting a bit of historical background and some spectacular wines from their extensive selection. Could not be happier and easily the best wine tasting experience for our group whilst visiting the Hunter. Not that the others were shabby - just Ben Ean was a standout.
Thanks to Kevin for time, patience and the wee blether along the trip.
Highly recommended.

We booked a Grange wine tasting at the Ben Ean Estate to fulfil a bucket list activity. We had the most wonderful time because our host, Elaine (big E), had so much time to explain the intricacies of Grange and also made this tasting a joyous occasion that will stay with us forever. A really positive experience!

Ben Ean has the best host, Joe Spagnolo. He offered to get us from our car to the restaurant, on a very wet day. The restaurant’s ambience was great, with a very happy environment, for families and couples. The food was OMG excellent. The Arancini balls were crispy and tasty. The pasta was the best with nice big plates to share

The best part is the price. Very reasonable and for the best quality. Will definitely drop by when we are next in the Hunter.

We just stopped in for a quick wine tasting on our way through. We were looked after by Jean who was the most friendly, helpful and informed lady. She made our visit so great and we loved the wines she gave us to try. Thank you Ben Ean for such a great experience.
