We offer a series of tailored wine experiences. The Wine House is designed to be welcoming, informative and relaxing. We were recommended this winery by another we visited. Although it is in a lovely location we found our host to be obnoxious and obviously not liking females.
A few times he mentioned women had no idea about wines. After asking us what wines we liked. He then gave us a taste testing one of which was a chardonnay. When we all said we didnt like the taste he said there you go and showed us it was a chardonnay. Unfortunately it was not a nice chardonnay. We had already purchased delicious one from another winery.
I wont be bringing friends and family back to this winery.

My boyfriend and I had the most incredible experience at the Wine House. We booked the Icon Wine Journey and it far exceeded our expectations. It is the most unique and creative wine tasting experience we've ever had. For the Icon Wine Journey you're not limited by what you can taste, you can try any of the wines available to taste. This experience is the best value for money in the region, as you can taste heritage and vintage wines and develop a true appreciation for the wines.
The experience was so enjoyable and memorable because of the staff. Adam was so lovely, very funny and has expert knowledge in wines, winemakers, the region and history. Tonia was an absolute standout, she truly elevated our experience. She was friendly, knowledgable, attentive and engaged with us on a personal level. It felt like having a wine tasting with a close friend. We ended up spending nearly 3 hours there as we just didn't want the fun to end.
Because of this experience and the fantastic staff, we bought 12 bottles of the most delicious and well crafted wines and became wine club members. The Wine House club membership offer is one of a kind in this region, think of it like the Qantas Rewards Program.
If you're visiting the Hunter Valley, this is an absolute must see and do. Cannot recommend this place and experience enough. You'll be thinking about it for a while after.

Made a booking in November for $20 a head which included white wine tasting and some nibbles. When we arrived we were informed that our booking included 4 white wine samples but no food. The wines we sampled were lovely, diverse and we bought 4 bottles. A little disappointed with the confusion re: our booking as I had booked this experience as a birthday treat for myself.

Thanks for your feedback and glad to hear you enjoyed the wines. As to the confusion, when you booked you paid for two white wine flights (which cost $20 each) and at the time of booking there is the option to order a Tasting Plate to accompany the flight ($30 each) or you are welcome to order a Tasting plate when you arrive.

Outstanding service, beautiful location and the staff were fantastic. Especially Neil. He was friendly, knowledgable and really took the time to understand our various tastes. Highly recommend you visit the Wine House before any other vineyard or cellar doors. 5 Stars

Kellie was amazing. She provided wines from A to Z from whites to reds and amazing punch fruits to simple summer tastes and dessert tawny. The cheese platter hit every note smokey and delicious to creamy, Greek and tasteful. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

We really enjoyed the wine and platter. The platter had a lovely variety of items to share and was very good value. The peaceful setting overlooking a lake added to the experience. The young man who served us was extremely helpful and couldn’t do enough to make the experience a positive one.

My partner had been raving about the lunch she had at the Wine House some 18 or so months prior. With many Covid shackles removed, we finally made it to Pokolbin and she was keen to take me to this restaurant. Sadly, we learned that there had been many significant changes as a result of Covid; the worst (from my partner's point of view) being that the Chef who was responsible for her previous meal had moved on and the menu was now limited to a few grazing platters. Undeterred, we made the booking and turned up the following day for what turned out to be a most relaxing and enjoyable lunch. The food was lovely (and surprisingly filling!) and accompanied by selections from the large range of available wines. Our hostess was very charming and attentive. The location also contributed to a relaxing and comfortable ambience. We'll definitely be back!

Great tasting experience for the Hunter Unearthed. Our host was very knowledgeable, friendly and took time to make us discover wines on and outside the list. We also had an excellent cheese and cold cuts platter, probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Wines were of great value and variety as well so we bought some after the tasting. Highly recommended!!

The restaurant here has excellent food and service. Jonah was our waiter and couldn't have done a better job to accompany the delicious food that we enjoyed. I had the ricotta doughnuts (as we were going out for a big dinner) and they were amazing. It's not far from the Roche Estate down McDonalds Rd but is quiet and the wine staff in the tasting room are very helpful and professional as well. Don't miss it on your next visit to the Hunter valley.

Thank you Neil for a great wine tasting today. Having already been to a number of cellar doors in the last 2 days, this experience was a stand-out.
From learning how to taste wines, to sampling varietals that we had not come across before, the selection of wines was impeccable. It has been a knowledgeable and memorable wine tasting experience.
