We drove out of Orange to the Ophir Reserve, about 40 minutes out of town. It’s the site of Australia’s original gold rush but next to nothing of that survives. It’s a great drive through the tablelands and gum forests and there are some great...More

Stayed for a few days before the bathurst race. The grounds were well maintained. The kids loved the river and caves. Flushing toilets were as expected from a cheap campsite that has day trippers. No phone, internet or TV signals at campsite. Water unsuitable for...More

We stayed two nights and camped over the crossing by the water. The autumn leaves were falling and made the area looked spectacular. Four local geese became our new friends. There was plenty of good 4wd tracks to explore. Flushing toilets in the main area...More

We used to camp here about 30 years ago and recently went back for memories. Nothing has changed except the weir used to be closed and the river cascaded over the top so we could shower under it. Now it is open and there doesn't...More

Place isn't too special. It's a pretty place to go for a walk the mines are probably a total of 40m few snakes around especially in the summer. Worse part is your not suppose to swim there although has never stopped us.

A bit difficult to find. We were looking for the waterfall but couldn't find it. Pass by a lake (or river?), the scenery was great. Gravel road all the way, definitely need a 4WD and not to go on rainy day.
