About
Swinging Bridge is a winery based around family, striving to produce wines of excellence that exhibit the unique provenance of the Orange region. From the estate’s position on the slopes surrounding Mount Canobolas (Gaahna Bulla), winemaker Tom Ward’s craft reflects his enduring passion for high altitude winemaking, with a focus on the region’s quintessential varieties: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Embracing innovation while grounded in heritage, Swinging Bridge’s wines are at the forefront of the Orange region’s development into a new frontier of celebrated cool-climate winemaking.

We booked a lunchtime tasting experience at the Swinging Bridge and were not disappointed. We were ushered into a small airy dining room - so booking is essential.
What came next was a superb tasting of around 10 wines with excellent explanations from the cellar master. But that was only the start - for each set of 2-3 wines, the resident chef Dave came and produced some wonderful and very original matching gourmet hors d’oeuvres.
Altogether top of the list of wineries we visited in Orange

We thoroughly enjoyed our Platinum wine tasting experience at Swinging Bridge which included a thoughtful and delicious food pairing. Swinging Bridge wines are elegant and their Riesling is a standout for me. Service was excellent. A great experience.

Spent a few hours going to 3 wineries including Swinging Bridge.
Have to say it was all pretty underwhelming, the service lacked any interest and the wines were given to us with little description or attempt to even make the experience a good one.
Having been to others prior where we parted with ~$1000 we were quite happy to “try and buy” but ended up leaving without any acknowledgement or asking if we had any questions, wanted to buy etc.
Philip Shaw left it for dead as far price, quality and enjoyment (and the charcuterie plate was a great touch).

There was 8 of us in total including 4 kids. I couldn’t book online for tasting so I rang and Tom was very welcoming. When we arrived we took us to the back room where the kids could run around. The wine selection was outstanding and so was his service and knowledge in wines . Highly recommended

We visited a few wineries on the day, and this was the best experience. Superbly knowledgeable and interactive hosts, each wine had a story, and were all extremely enjoyable. Plus the view from the tasting room is amazing. Highly recommend making it one of your stops.

My partner and I booked a wine tasting experience here recently. Having been to wineries in the hunter valley, Mudgee and other highly rated cellar doors in Orange, this was undoubtably our favourite. The wines, spectacular. Every single wine was delicious. The service, unbeatable. They are happy to accomodate your interests and taste buds without the extra price tag unlike many other places. They are extremely knowledgeable re the wines, and are happy to share this with you, without it being too overwhelming. YOU MUST ENJOY A PICNIC. The picnic set up was also extremely delicious. We were supplied with everything we needed which was above and beyond what we expected. But nothing compares to the intimate experience of enjoying it privately in the views with the ultimate view of Orange. On your next visit, you would truly be missing out if you did not experience all this cellar door has to offer.

Absolutely loved the swinging bridge! After coming from an unfriendly neighbouring winery we were pleasantly surprised by this one!
The blonde server was so knowledgable and kind. She knew our wines and was happy to answer our questions.
We ended up buying 3 bottles which we hadn’t planned!
The tempinot was delicious! And the humus with the cheeseboard was the best humus I’ve ever had!
10/10 for these guys. They weren't expensive but they looked after us well and had a great range to choose from!

Lovely scenery and outdoors seating.
We booked a lunchtime tasting with a cheese platter.
Very warm service and also enjoyable wines: we bought their rose and tempinot. Very nice! Would also recommend the MAW red.

Booked for the afternoon for a premium tasting with cheese board - and didn't disappoint. Very full for the long weekend, and arrived early, but wasn't an issue for the team. Sat out in the tent next to the fire and went through a great range of wines. Very knowledgeable staff were able to take us through the tasting and other great information. Staff were very well presented, definitely knew their wines and area and were great to talk with. Some cracking wines!
