We visited the lake on a lovely sunny day and did the walk around it. Lots of families enjoying the day - my husband swam across and back. We only had coffee from the cafe as it was morning but the menu did look good.

Good place to relax and cool down, the lake is rather shallow so suitable for kids. The diving platform is a nice touch.

It was the local swimming hole but the water looked a little murky and unpleasant but it was a picturesque small lake with a sandy beach and good picnic facilities and was well used on a hot day. I did not go swimming as it had that Lake Placid look

Popped by on the drive out of Orange. There’s a reasonable sized lake / reservoir, a small beach, and a coffee shop. Just walked across the spillway and back.

Very nice lake and a great short (45-60 minutes) stroll around the lake itself. Flat, not too tiring, great views. Highly recommended to do with kids (prams can pass there easily).

Whilst visiting Orange recently, we decided to visit Lake Canobolas. After our lunch at the newly refurbished Lake Kiosk and Cafe, we took a stroll over to the weir and lake. The weir was in full flow as Orange had recent heavy rains. There is a nice parkland area and picnic spots on the grassed areas. Public toilets are available near the Cafe. It is well worth a visit for a leisurely stroll.

How do I get there using public transportation?

Hi,
I'm quite certain you can only get there via taxis which will cost quite a bit.
I don't think a bus runs that far out.
