I completed the Level 1 Kayaking Skills Course with School of Yak on Lake Macquarie and it was great. There was a god mix of practical and theory and the instructor was skilled and made it a fun and entertaining day. Highly recommended.

My teenage son and I went on a long tour of Lake Macquarie on a perfect sunny winter day with Glenn. He took us to some beautiful sites along the lake. His knowledge and experience made it so enjoyable and even though we were novices and had to go through some open water, we felt totally safe with him. I... More

My partner (experienced kayaker) and I (novice) spent a day with Glenn out on Lake Macquarie back in May. The weather was perfect and we were pretty much the only ones on the water. It was a absolute peaceful day, with a yummy afternoon tea, bird watching, a stunning sunset and heaps of paddling :) I honestly recommend Glenn and... More

With a guide such as Glenn who is so passionate and knowledgeable about the Wetlands and his craft, you really cannot go wrong. We are a middle aged couple with limited experience in kayaking. This was no problem for Glenn. He tailored the session to our ability and to the prevailing conditions and that made for a fun and interesting... More

Thanks Glenn for a fantastic day in a wonderful location. Your knowledge, skill and love of your "office" , made for an informative, rewarding, and exhausting day. Morning tea was fantastic, but the highlights , Eagles, ibis, egrets, kestrels and great company won us over totally. Highly recommended!!!

I took a School of Yak tour with my partner, step-brother and father last December. I grew up in Newcastle and my partner was visiting for the first time. It was chiefly my partner's interest in kayaking that led us to School of Yak, but I couldn't have had a better time - it was definitely one of the highlights... More

We paddled up Dora Creek with Glenn. It was great! Glenn's instructions were clear, funny and easy to understand. It was a relaxed afternoon with just the right amount of commentary and peace time. This activity is great for adults, teens and kids probably above 10 (I would recommend). Great activity for a group of friends or the whole family!... More

I'd heard from school of yak through somebody at work. When I saw it was a beautiful sunday I decided to give Glenn a call just to see if he had an opening. He had a busy day, but still made the time to fit us in for an explorer tour. We went kayaking in the evening at the hunter... More

Having lived in Newcastle most of my life, I was stimulated to go kayaking in the Hunter Wetlands with the 'School of Yak' only because an overseas visitor had said they wanted to. I couldn't believe what an interesting and enjoyable experience had been waiting for me just off the main road to Hexham, and I'd never realised! I couldn't... More
