Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well worth a visit. Very nice. I went on Easter Sunday morning. I was late but noone cared and I just walked in and sat in the very back and listened to the rest of the service. Seemed very friendly to tourists.

Lovely cathedral to have a quick look at whilst you’re in Newcastle.
If you’re planning to walk up the cathedral tower, you can only do so between the opening hours of the shop (11 till 2:30) or by appointment, as somebody needs to give you access. Unfortunately we missed out on this occasion but will try next time.

Beautiful cathedral surrounded by great grounds and very old cemetery and what a view of Newcastle from its hill position.

An amazing place to capture some amazing views of Newcastle and the coastline. The hills to access the cathedral are steep so walkers be aware!

We travelled across by Ferry to Newcastle and was immediatley struck by the Cathedral on top of the hill, which was a duplicate of Liverpool Cathedral in the UK. So we had to make our way up and have a look. The interior was beautiful and there was a small viewing area where you could see the original stonework. The staff on duty that day were very helpful and we wish we could have had more time to enjoy it fully.

The choir at Christ Church Cathedral is wonderful - they sing on Sundays at the 9.30am service and on Sunday evenings for evensong. Beautiful music in a historic and spiritual setting - it is hard not to be moved. The cathedral also has some interesting exhibits from the world wars so get there early for an explore.

Nice and peaceful setting. Beautiful stain glass windows and interesting artefacts to view. Volunteers on site are helpful and if the weather is ok take the stairs to the tower roof - the view is spectacular!

The cathedral has the most peaceful atmosphere, beautiful decorations and inspiring architecture. We were welcomed by a wonderful attendant who gave us a very useful orientation. We climbed the bell tower and had an amazing 360-degree view of Newcastle - a must-do experience (donation required).

Stands out as so BIG, great to see up close and from afar, on the water... such a master design of a building.

This was one of the most impressive cathedrals I have ever seen, the architecture was amazing. There is a WW1 commemorative chapel with flags from that era. We were too late for the Bell Tower climb, so we went back the next morning for the first one at 10.15am, small fee applicable, you are given the key to unlock the door and then there is a small concrete stairway that winds around until you reach the Bell Tower, 7 bells to see, you can then assend the steel spiral staircase to the roof of the cathedral, which provides 360 degree views. Once finished you relock the door and hand back the key. Make sure you check out the WW1 ANZAC flag, hanging on the wall . Look at the steel cables that were implanted into the arches after the earthquake in the late 1980's. The gardens are also amazing. Parking onsite is free.
