Very easy to move around to the different sections, but not sure about the area for little ones. It seemed like just a mini indoor playground. Not sure it is appropriate for a Museum.

Staying at Crowne Plaza, hadn't considered going even though it was close by. Just passing and thought we would stick our heads in. Pleasant surprise. Interesting, especially the section re emigration to Australia through the decades. Plus section on Newcastle's history.

By all accounts the Newcastle Museum has been well furbished but it needs a lot of the stuff called funding before it gets in the big league. Over all its well run friendly staff but needs more Car parking can be a local problem

Great place to visit with the kids, exhibitions change fairly frequently so always something new to discover. Parking costs are bit high nearby due to NCC.

A nice museum explaining the area. Spent about 1 hour. Liked Coal exhibit, and the understanding of the cultural changes with immigration.

The Newcastle Museum offers excellent historical information presented in an easy to follow way. There is also a children's science section to the museum that is very hands-on. This highly informative museum is a must see when visiting Newcastle. A small snack area and museum...More
