This is a very interesting place. The only beam steam engine left in the world I believe. The guides are very knowledgeable, you are able to walk around the 2 stream engines that they have and see how they pumped up the water for Goulburn.

So many times a month the "big wheel" is cranked up and the boilers get going! My husband really enjoyed his visit and I thought our "cream tea" afterwards was pleasant looking out over the dam with the sun on the reeds...

The visit to the Waterworks was eye opening. Restored history at its best. Would recommend visit only on pumping days, this way you would get to see how it actually worked.

Entry to the Pumphouse Museums is by donation. The only other entry fee is when the Steampunk Victoriana Fair is on and next year that will be Saturday 14 October.
