Our family had a great time visiting the zoo. Day 1 drove a golf cart around and gave kids a real sense of being on safari. Day 2 started earlier to catch all the talks which we all enjoyed. Found out so many interesting facts about the animals. Our zoo experience was fun, informative and we especially loved seeing the... More

This is one place in Dubbo we really enjoyed and found very interesting and informative! Except for the blistering heat and the savannah safari bus not turning up, our visit was perfect! There were the cute meerkats, rhinos, elephants (with the baby one staying with it's mum the whole time!), lions, monkeys, hippos etc. in their own habitats. Used our... More

We visited this Zoo in September and it was a sunny/breezy day. We wanted to use the buggy but we arrived a bit late and all buggies were already taken by other visitors. I was due to give birth that week so decided to take the car to drive around instead of walking the whole place. It was great to... More

It was a stinking hot day, but we loved seeing all the animals and taking our time riding around the zoo. Thank goodness for the kiosk near the lions (approx half way) - we needed an ice block and chilled drink! High point - the hippo talk and watching 'Happy' (the 31 year old alpha male) enjoying his shower Also,... More

Zoo was a good experience but the variety of animals is not that great. It could be better with more animals I thought. We hired a Buggy ($69 per 3 hours) which was good. Read the map and go otherwise you may miss some animals (e.g Cheetah). We started early (9 am) and was there till close (4 pm) and... More

It was a stinking hot day but still able to easily view animals. Loved being able to go back for a second day- it was better than the first because we knew where we're the best viewing points. LOVED seeing little Sabai the baby elephant playing with his mum and Aunty. A good idea to get there early before it... More

Visited the Zoo & stayed at Billabong Camp overnight. Best experience ever. Jenn was a great guide. The night walk and the morning walks were very informative, atmosphere was friendly. We spent two days looking around the zoo and enjoyed everything about it. Can't wait to do it all again!

There is a lot to see at the Zoo. We drove through, the circuit is half the length of the walking trails and you can still see plenty. There are loads of parking spots close to enclosures.
