Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was walking my dog and he was attacked by three dogs without leads. One a pig dog. The most terrifying experience of my life. He was almost ripped apart in front of my eyes. If you walk your dog don't go alone !!! He was bit in the eye, head, ears and had his face, smashed costing me a lot of money in vet bills and the guy did not even say sorry!!!
otherwise it is a lovely river...get in before they develop it out of existence.

It has a fabulous route around the river that can be cycled or walked. It is well worth it and you can even stop for a picnic at several spots.

Easy walk and nice and peaceful. Some bird life buzzing around like Eastern rosellas and blue wrens. There are picnic shelters and seats at one end of the park.

Nice river- a little dirty today though, perhaps after the recent floods. Behind the shopping strip there is a small park and walking track along the river. Pleasant place to sit and chill. Beware of mozzies though!

Visited on Monday 3rd February. We were staying nearby and went for a walk along the river, there are good walking tracks and even an exercise area if you want to use it.

From out of town, I always make a point of walking along the river when in Dubbo. It is certainly a wonderful way to start the day. Friendly locals usually say hello, the scenery is lovely especially if you do the very long walk out to the rail bridge off the Old Dubbo Road.
Beware of flies in summer, some areogard is a godsend!
16kms of very enjoyable walking!

We walked across the bridge into town and were pleased to see water flowing in the Macquarie River. Considering the lack of rain the water was relatively clean.

The riverside park is a great place to enjoy nature. The park has plenty of picnic areas and amenities. Amazing old gum trees and other varieties of flora. Lots of birdlife.

The Macquarie River is the heartbeat of Dubbo. The Dubbo Regional Council has a well maintained riverside walk which you can do as a circuit. Interesting signs along th way, wheelchair friendly Aboriginal cultural heritage and birdwatching
