Jack is certainly an excellent artist but this gallery didn't really rock our boats. I think sales of prints, cookbooks and postcards etc. were more featured than his original works.

I think we may have interrupted Jack's horse race viewing on TV, so he briskly asked where we were from, then asked for our admission money - $3 each, spruiked his opal collection, then disappeared, soon replaced by an elderly lady I took to be...More

A great attraction & one not to be missed if in town. We drop in here whenever we are in BH. Besides Absalom's wonderful & distinctive art he displays the best collection of opals I've ever seen. You'll probably meet JA as you enter the...More

I used to watch Jack’s adventure docos with my dad when I was a kid, so I was keen to check out his gallery. It was very disappointing mostly because I found him to be very abrasive and that’s just when making small talk. Asking...More

We have visited this gallery on several visits and found it to be much the same each time. Artwork is huge and the opals are interesting but not all that different from what you would see in any gift shop.

I had done some research on Broken Hill attractions befoe our arrival and this was one of my preferences. Some of his works are so accurate they could be photographs (and we're talking vast landscapes of MacDonnell Ranges etc). As is often the case, Jack...More

Beautiful garden greeted us on the path to this gallery. Art work is all in one room, which is worth a visit to see some of his stunning works. This was even more beautiful after exploring areas outside of Broken Hill.
