Brilliant new attraction for Broken Hill and very 'on trend'...it's all about Gin !! Neatly tucked in at he rear of the Tydvil Hotel and with it's own separate entrance as soon as you walk in your nose gets a hit of the beautiful fragrances of the botanicals used in the gin making process. In the one room you'll find an excellent retail area selling the 3 gins currently for sale and apparently a fourth one is on the way. Plus you can see in the same space the equipment used in the distillery to make the gin, all copper pipes, metal and barrels...very steam-punk. Tastings are available, we went straight to the Gunpowder gin which, surprisingly as gin not being my normal first choice of drink I found to be very enjoyable. It was very smooth tasting not harsh and although not sweet and flowery...because it's gin !!, I got a real sense of those previously mention botanicals. Would highly recommend a visit, great effort from all involved. NOTE to out of town visitors the distillery although at a pub/hotel it is in a fairly residential area so mainly kerbside parking. If you are towing a van or trailer and just driving through it may be easier parking to stay on the nearby main through road (Williams Street/Silver City Highway) and walk up a couple of blocks to get to the distillery.

I heard about this place and the plans some time ago from my family that still live here. These chaps have done a great job, a very impressive set up. The wife said it tastes delicious and I'll take her word for it .

A great addition to an already fantastic family pub. The BHD is set up perfectly. The gins (and moonshine) are delicious, and they really showcase the local area and flavours. Highly recommend ordering dust storm and sitting in the new outdoor area to enjoy it!
