The Bruce Langford Visitors' Centre combines a museum, theatre and gift-shop, with interactive displays showing the history of the Service, as well as tributes to the doctors, pilots and flight nurses who work for us,the many community groups and benefactors who support us. So visit us now and...Tour a working RFDS Base. Enjoy a talk by our tour guide. View the aircraft in the hangar. Watch a unique film in our 44 seat theatre. Shop for special souvenirs. Explore the Mantle of Safety Museum. Today, Flynn's dream is a vibrant reality, with 23 Flying Doctor Bases and 66 aircraft around Australia. The Royal Flying Doctor Service Broken Hill Base, Bruce Langford Visitors' Centre is unique because it is one of the few working Bases, located at an airport that is open to the public daily. Visitors can tour the Base and explore the Mantle of Safety Museum which showcases over 88 years of remarkable outback history. The Royal Flying Doctor Service is a charitable organisation. We rely on the generosity of the community to continue our life-saving work. All proceeds from admissions and merchandise sales go towards the purchase of new aircraft and vital medical equipment.

The world of Australia which doesn't cling to the coastal rim wouldn't survive without the RFDS. The short tour of this facility makes that very clear.

Firstly, the volunteers who manage the RFDS headquarters in Broken Hill are angels. As a supporter of the RFDS - I was thrilled to visit the NSW headquarters. Worth a visit if you are travelling through Broken Hill. You will not be disappointed.

Hello, am considering visiting your centre when Indian pacific stops in SEPT. Can you please advise if there is any public transport from station to airport or would it be easier to hire taxi?

As your time is limited I would also recommend taxi, maybe a few of your fellow travellers could share one. Well worth a visit as not all R.F.D.S bases have hanger workshops.
