Recently visited the RFDS base in Broken Hill on a family road trip through the outback. The staff there were absolutely wonderful and the tour is a must do. The short film is a reality check of the great work that the RFDS provides to the great Australians of the outback. The tour of the base with explanations of the... More

We went on a Sunday morning and we basically had the place to ourselves. A very informative and interesting way to spend the morning. You can check out everything from a museum, gift shop to communication room and aircraft hangar. 10/10

It's always good practice to help these guys whevever the chance occurs. I wandered down to take a look whilst I was waiting for a flight and found they have an amazing range of clothing and gifts. Too good to pass up! The staff are all gorgeous plus it's air conditioned! Bonus on a 45 degree day in the outback.

We enjoyed our visit and tour of the RFDS base in Broken Hill. We got to see a short film, several aircraft (from a distance) and the dispatch room and a friendly guide explained the history and current operations of the service. We enjoyed the small museum afterwards and recommend this for a family activity when visiting the region.

A real eye opener and a bit of a reality check to see how tough things are for those in the bush, away from the services we take for granted in the cities and larger towns. It's a fair hike out here so do yourself a favour and check this place out, it's quite unique.

We recently toured the RFDS Hangar at Broken Hill, well worth the experience. Excellent tour, extensive gift shop (our kids kept picking things for us to buy) with all money raised put back into the operations of RFDS. We could've spent more time in the hangar and museum but were on a deadline. Excellent historical memorabilia to be viewed. Don't... More

Great to see how the Flying Doctor Service operates. The museum is part and parcel of the operations center. A very good and interesting couple of hours.
