Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's a no from me. Over priced and under loved. It's overrun with weeds and the animals that are there seem so sad. A peacock also ran at my daughter which was the most entertaining part of the hour we spent there. I have never been in and out of an animal reserve so quickly.
I hate leaving a bad review as so many businesses have had it tough this year but $26 per adult, and $14 entry for a 2yo plus $5 for animal feed just can't be justified.

I am so baffled at the all the reviews saying how great this place is… thinking maybe they are affiliated, know the owners or maybe the place transports them back happier childhood memories.
It’s sad this place could be an incredible place for injured or rescued wildlife and also amazing to bring awareness and education and possibly was once back in the day.
This was an extremely expensive experience that I wouldn’t recommend. I must say though Well done on all the marketing they have done as it’s sold as being a really incredible, magical place and I guess you have really shown what some good advertising does.
This place is run down… and not in a funny fun way like the giant koala that beams terrifying red eyes at you on the freeway or the big pineapple that was even more terrifying to walk through after some of the windows managed to catch on fire to try and get out of being on display any longer.
Some of the animals are not very well, one of the beautiful alpacas can not even open its eye and some of the bird enclosures smell and are really dirty. A lot of the enclosures are overgrown, dirty and need some love as I think some of the animals do too.
Yes, you can pat a few animals which is good but again you need to pay the $5 for a very small bag of food to entice them to the fence.
Yes there is a train that definitely no longer runs the path is incredibly overgrown and I don’t think it’s been running for a long time and to be honest it’s not that big of a place not sure why there was a train. (There was an old sign saying that that would have been more extra $$ if it had been running)
All in all well done to them on the marketing, and maybe if you want to help out local injured wildlife do a google. I wouldn’t recommend this place in its current state even for the sake of thinking you are helping some of the animals as a lot of the animals aren’t there because they are rescued as made out to be.
To the park please get someone in to check out the alpacas and put some love back into your park and animals maybe even a fundraiser or working bee with locals.

Was greated with a very rude lady on entry, could smell cigarette smoke close by, and looked across from entry, 2 staff and an old guy in a golf buggy sitting near the entry smoking, such a disappointment before even getting in. Was at the park 10years previously, and noticed unfortunately the very poor upkeep everywhere. The snake enclosure didn't have lights, train looked like it hadn't gone for weeks, cleanliness was poor, the cobwebs and condition of enclosures notably poorly maintained. No real improvement or changes except addition maybe of deer. The walking enclosure with kangaroos extremely dangerous with small tree stumps sitting out of the ground of 150mm, seen a child trip and almost fell on another. Empty enclosures, just don't see the value, when whilst very different, but Mogo Zoo is a much better value in money time and experience. The highlight for my Daughter was hand feeding a peacock, that could have been done outside the grounds. The wombat presentation was enjoyable. I really hope the owners will soon start to make improvements to what could be a great asset to the tourism community of the bay area.

Horrible.
This place is so over grown with trees and Bush.
The path is hard to walk on let along push a pram along.
A lot of the animals need their nails clipped.
No koalas
Not many animals at all.
Wombat and snake show was hard to hear and see. Kids lots onterest very fast
Animals with bad legs and struggling to walk.
Not many birds you can feed and no walk in free flight areas.
The cages and enclosures need alot of work and some are falling apart.
Very expensive.
Train not going at all like advertised on website.
Food for animals also expensive
Picnic area is not like advertised. More mud then grass.
Very very disappointed

great park to visit and for the kids to have fun. I found the entry fees are expensive and it was almost impossible to walk in the park after the rain. there was mud everywhere. they should name it peacock land, there were beautiful peacocks everywhere. in general, it is a nice place to visit

We were very disappointed with Birdland at Batemans Bay today. It was so run down and unkept, the train is not running either. It was not worth the money for what it is. My children are 3 and 5 and liked to see the animals but the animal show was disappointing. I’d love to see this place get a second life I feel like it hasn’t been touched for 30 years since I went there as a kid, like a ghost town. With the tourism that comes to this town a boost would see this place thrive for sure. So sad.

So disappointing, may have been good years ago but maintenance is lacking. Overgrown and if its rained don't bother. Animals in fishtanks would problem love to have the glass cleaned. Some cages have so much wire on them it's not a good viewing experience.
For same price roughly MOGO zoo is the go.
So sorry for negative comments but waste of money.

We enjoyed a wonderful couple of hours at the wildlife park in Feb 2024. It’s a humble little place but it’s lovely to know that most of the animals there have been rescued. Some of the grounds and paths are a bit unkempt but it made for a unique experience as each area / enclosure was seperate and quite private.
There is a great range of birds and other animals, and we enjoyed holding a snake and seeing a wombat up close. The staff were knowledgeable and wondered around answering questions and telling us facts and stories about the resident animals.
A lovely way to spend a couple of hours.

Sadly disappointed, advertised as being able to interact with baby wombat and snakes (this is the only reason we traveled here) The baby is now too old so you can’t be in the ring with it. No chance of patting the snake either. I feel the photos on the website is very misleading. Quite expensive for what it is.Says out front to ride the train around. Train doesn’t seem to be there. Not a great experience

Lots of animals to see and interact with. I was surprised how much my 13yo son loved it. We visited twice in one week. Large variety of Australian birds which we loved. Park could do with some maintenance, a lot of overgrown weeds/vegetation growing but still a great experience.
