We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Original and exciting. Chris the proprieter is a true gentleman and loves to explain all he can to everyone, young and old. Amazing collection of minerals, fossils, opals (the owner's passion), shells and marine animals. Will be sorely missed as was great value especially for family's during holdays.

This was a very sweet shell shop and museum in one. The owner Chris was very chatty and explained the history of some of the shells. He showed us around and pointed out some of the most interesting ones. We bought a few inexpensive shells as souvenirs. He also told us about the time he spent opal mining. We visited the shop in December 2016, a quirky visit, we will remember it fondly and would definitely go back.

We enjoyed the information about the shells and fossils. So much to see and for the admission price for a family only $3.00. Well worth the visit.

I have visited this little museum in Bateman's Bay a couple of times, and each time I have always enjoyed my visit..entry is only a small coin donation, there is plenty on display from shells from the deep, to deep sea creatures in bottles, the owner is quite knowledgeable and is always helpful with any questions,..I always enjoy looking at the display, it is only a small museum, so don't expect to compare it with bigger museums. There are items you can purchase as well, so we'll worth the browse, you'll enjoy learning about the deep sea and it's habitat. .located next to the catalina bowling club at the Bay.
Batemans Bay itself is always a beautiful coastal place to visit while in the area.
You won't be disappointed.

The owner was very rude.
He treated my 8 year old son (with special needs) with total disrespect. He would not answer my son's one question. He said that questions tie up his time. There was no one else in the shop so, in turn, he was not busy.
We left without even looking inside.

Was a bit crowded and there were only three families. But you can tell that the owner is very proud of his displays and does a great job in a really small place.

This is a great little museum, wouldn't think you could cram so much stuff in together but it still looks really good.
Lots of things from the sea, from shark jaws to sea-shells to puffer fish and all things in between. Also a small opal section
The owner is very friendly and likes a chat. He also helped us out with other things to do in the area which i didn't find at the information centre so very informative and helpful. Lots of parking out the front.
Only a small entry fee and well worth it.

For a contribution of $3 to enter you will find all things under the sea, it's a very tiny museum that is worth a visit.
