About
We are an art museum. We present exhibitions of the best local, national, and international art. We are learning new things. We offer opportunities to meet artists, to play, to make art, and to explore ideas. We are ever changing. We always have something new to see or a new way to see it. We are an escape. From the everyday, from the weather. We are family friendly, with children's activities and exhibitions year round. Located in the heart of Albury, we are on Wiradjuri country. Open daily, free entry. (Closed Good Friday, Christmas Day)

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Obviously plenty of money going into the galleries but quite ghastly art. If you want evocative sculpture, breathtaking paintings and superb photography - don’t go here. Helpful and friendly staff but the art exhibits were just dreadful. It was real “emperor’s clothes” stuff - anyone who thought this was good has never visited truly great galleries. At least it’s free - so if you’re in Albury go and see for yourself. We took about 5 minutes.

If you enjoy “modern art” than this place is for you. Like a gallery to have mix of older art and modern art. This just had some strange pieces. A lot of wasted space throughout gallery as well

We received an impressive, warm, knowledgeable, welcome from Indy. The art by young artists was brilliant. The diverse art and kids area were beautifully presented. The shop has some lovely, interesting, different items.

Gallery Cafe is in a great location on edge of Civic Park - really lovely. Gallery itself is an interesting building.
Unfortunately the toilet facilities looked clean but smelt terrible. A real turn off to an otherwise impressive attraction.

What a surprise this gallery was! We had a lovely and relaxing hour here yesterday!
We enjoyed the beautiful and spacious building and the interesting art.
The grounds are lovely, the cafes looked nice and the gift shop had some beautiful things, especially jewelry.
A lovely peaceful way to spend an hour after a long drive from Sydney!

You are able to see about 26 Sidney Nolan artworks all together in this small gallery. There is also a part of an old Ned Kelly movie made around 1906.
The gallery is a wonderful attraction for Albury.

Loved it! Took the advise from all the great reviews from other people and the recommendation from the staff at Quest Albury. This place is awesome and so well done for a regional town. How cool is it that locals also get involved and support the place in a monetary sense. Well done and hope NSW Art Gallery rewards you well.

Worth a visit. The museum is not large and you probably need an hour, but found it interesting and we'll curated. Nice cafe out the back too called Canvas. Gift shop offers some quirky gift ideas.

If travelling the Hume be sure to break the journey and visit MAMA. It’s a newly developed complex with a strong permanent art collection, especially of photography.
Mainly we went to see the exhibition of Marilyn Monroe art and memorabilia; on until May. The US based display has been around the world but apparently its only Australian stop is at MAMA. Monroe’s progress from “girl next door” pin-up to troubled star is traced in paintings, photos and on five video screens. All well displayed, varied and informative.

Each time I have visited there has been a new and "interesting" range of art. Usually the shows are fun and different!
