About
We are an art museum. We present exhibitions of the best local, national, and international art. We are learning new things. We offer opportunities to meet artists, to play, to make art, and to explore ideas. We are ever changing. We always have something new to see or a new way to see it. We are an escape. From the everyday, from the weather. We are family friendly, with children's activities and exhibitions year round. Located in the heart of Albury, we are on Wiradjuri country. Open daily, free entry. (Closed Good Friday, Christmas Day)

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very welcoming staff and such interesting exhibits. I love the little hidden sculptures for the kids to find. Well worth a look if you’ve got a hour or so to spend in Albury.

We received an impressive, warm, knowledgeable, welcome from Indy. The art by young artists was brilliant. The diverse art and kids area were beautifully presented. The shop has some lovely, interesting, different items.

Gallery Cafe is in a great location on edge of Civic Park - really lovely. Gallery itself is an interesting building.
Unfortunately the toilet facilities looked clean but smelt terrible. A real turn off to an otherwise impressive attraction.

Obviously plenty of money going into the galleries but quite ghastly art. If you want evocative sculpture, breathtaking paintings and superb photography - don’t go here. Helpful and friendly staff but the art exhibits were just dreadful. It was real “emperor’s clothes” stuff - anyone who thought this was good has never visited truly great galleries. At least it’s free - so if you’re in Albury go and see for yourself. We took about 5 minutes.

Beautiful new gallery with great collection of art, especially more recent Australian art, and lots of local artists. One of the best cafes in town with gorgeous terrace area looking out into green cultural square of town. Great shop for books and souvenirs. Totally worth a visit every time you visit Albury. The kids hidey-holes are great - hiding the art, not the kids!

A wide range of contemporary art, supported by very helpful staff. Large contemporary display space in a very modern building carefully connected to two heritage buildings.

Interesting building, but nothing on show from the permanent collection. Current displays need to be balanced with pieces from the past. It is not called Murray Contemporary Art Museum. We were disappointed

If you enjoy “modern art” than this place is for you. Like a gallery to have mix of older art and modern art. This just had some strange pieces. A lot of wasted space throughout gallery as well

More please. What a very pleasant and enjoyable, little regional art gallery. An interesting collection on display for our visit, an Olley, a Kadinsky, a Conder, modern, period, installation... Something for everyone and anyone. The building too is pleasant, light and volumous. But I wanted more. It was all over too soon.

Each time I have visited there has been a new and "interesting" range of art. Usually the shows are fun and different!
