Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The single staff member at the Tourist Information was very pleasant and knowledgeable. There was a fair amount of literature that she gave us to study for our cycling on the nearby rail trails. It’s located near the railway station in Albury and is very central.

The lovely ladies working here were very friendly and helpful, letting us know the best places to visit during our short stay in Albury. They were very knowledgeable and provided some great ideas for places to visit. They also helped out with some maps and even places to park in town.

Located directly across from the Albury Train Station, the Visitor Centre is another part of the area that has maintained its charm. Formerly a residence for the station master, this property was built in the early 1880’s. Now this building houses a fantastic array of information about Albury and the surrounding region.

I was in the area for business and as I walked past this I realised it's the first time I have had a few moments to duck in whilst it's open! I tentatively stepped inside knowing my intentions were to see the magnificent old building. It was the Station Master's quarters once.
Designed by Henry Deane and built over 1881 and 1882, the original Albury Station
Master’s Residence featured a sitting room, dining room, scullery, pantry, kitchen, front verandah and five bedrooms upstairs. The plans for the house showed that every room had its own fireplace and, although unusual for the times, water was piped directly into the home.
The Station Master’s Residence was restored to become the Visitor Information Centre in 2010. It's superbly located outside the magnificent Albury Railway Station...so you can step off a train and make your way to it.
I met the loveliest young man inside who was most accepting of my curiosity about the building rather than having information. But then I remembered a conversation I had on a train a few months ago about an immigrant camp in the area and asked him about it. He was wonderful and supplied me with information ... the camp exists! I am going to put it on my list of things to do in the future.

We always stop at the local visitor information centre and talk to the staff about road and weather conditions in the area. The staff are also helpful with information on places to stay and things to see and do.

The railway station and visitor centre an beautiful buildings, but not really a tourist attraction as such. Check them out if you have time, but unless you are a architecture lover, I wouldn't make a side trip.

Hi there, I would suggest using the Albury-Thurgoona Trail. It runs parallel to the freeway and has lights roughly every 50-100 metres. You can find a map of the local trails, including the above mentioned, on our website or feel free to call/email the Albury Visitor Information Centre and we can email you a copy of the trails. Enjoy your stay.
