Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Free camping area , scenic views, toilets, bbq area. Dogs allowed and small fires. Very quiet area. Was filling up by end of day. Can park on water front or further back. Lovely area.

Good place to visit to get some nice photos as well as learn a bit more about Lake Hume and the dam. Take a hat and sunscreen if it's a warm day, although there is shade under trees and a picnic area once you get on the dam wall it can be quite warm in the summer sun.

I had a couple of hours before my plane flight so I drove out to the Hume Weir. It is a short drive through nice countryside and once there, the views are fantastic. It was a windy day so the waves from the lake were crashing onto the rocks and the weir. It made for a spectacular sight.

This is a beautiful , scenic place in which peace may be found. There are so many aspects to it and it has a function as well as an outlook. The lights on the wall at night are a sight for sore eyes. The water is the dam of the iconic Murray River and the area is huge and varied. Please don’t miss this place and try not to litter it!!

I had some time to spare whilst in Albury so decided to visit Lake Hume. I was most impressed apon arrival to find the dam wall releasing tonnes of water to the river below. The golden sunset made it even more spectacular. A great parking spot near the dam wall provided overnight accommodation for my van. Having read a lot of negative reviews about the local Cafe I gave it a miss and went for a short walk instead. There is a caravan park and boat ramp nearby ( flat for parking I might add). Apon leaving I drove over the Bethanga Bridge which took me into Victoria, another interesting sight to see.

It is quite a lovely drive from Albury to Lake Hume. The roads wind a bit so maybe drive slowly for those people who suffer from motion sickness. Around the lake is very windy. Best time of day to go is the middle of the day because you will have the sun behind you while you look at the lake.

A great example of a hydro electric scheme. The dam was very full, I would say near capacity on our visit so very impressive. A great free activity while in the area

A must do if visiting the region. The Hume Dam is impressive and the mountain ranges surrounding it are a very beautiful addition to this lovely part of the world.

What a fabulous place to see and experience the sheer volume of water being released. It's a beautiful parkland space to sit as well, so enjoy the walk across the dam wall as well as the green spaces.

A massive construction for the time when it was first built. Interesting to walk on the dam wall and to see the power station and the massive overflow through the open gates.
