Our 40 minute flight gave us a great opportunity to see the landscape below us. The pilot also was very knowledgeable and gave us little stories and information about what we were seeing: the Moolayember Gorge (which is very similar to Carnarvon Gorge), Arcadia Valley, the Three Sisters (rock formation), Lake Nuga Nuga and the Woolpack, a rock formation. Our 40 minute flight was packed with great views, 1000 ft above ground, and most of all, the pilot was sensitive to my concerns re heights. and his flying was so expert that I was at ease in the Robinson helicopter, thank you. We had spent a day and a half walking Carnarvon gorge. To sit in a comfortable helicopter and see everything from the air was just a spectacular way to finish our visit to the area.

Stunning sights of the Gorge in Carnarvon National Park viewing farmland and ancient rock formations below.
Most of the area we saw is not accesible by road. We had the 20 minute flight as I'm a bit nervous of heights but would love longer flight next time.
Pilot was very friendly & knowledgable about the local area answering all our questions.
Highly Recommended!!

Such a wonderful and exhilarating experience. Staff were amazing, friendly and well informed on the region. Caterers to nervous first timers and excellent safety run through. Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely be going on more helicopter flights from now on.

advertise correctly. your brochure says $99 but you charge $125. it intimates you see the carnarvon gorge but only from a long distance away. it says a 10 minute ride but after you include the warm up and safety procedures i doubt we were in the air for more than 5 minutes. sure we went up in a helicopter which i had never done before, but the rest of it was a dud. who wants to see a camping area from above? not me. pity i can get a much cheaper helicopter flight on the sunshine coast. i think you get just a good a view of the surrounding cliffs on the drive in to carnarvon.

Hi our brochure and website clearly state we fly the Moolayamber ranges (it is on the home page) Quote fly with us for the ultimate view of the Moolayember Rangers and the beautiful surrounding farmlands.) - which is part of the Great Carnarvons.... No one can fly up the gorge as it is national park it is a no go flight area. Now each of our flights are approved by QPWS and we hold special commercial permits to operate them. They are GPS marked and tracked. Each flight type is exactly the same path etc, the only factor would be tail wind or head wind on the day. I am happy to send you the gps tracking for the flight to put your mind at rest. The tracking is done by a global company real time and I can spool a mission report for the day and exact moment of your flight. Our company policy for tracking flights is for safety, but the reporting will show how long you were in the aircraft displaying engine on to engine off. The ten minute flight is a very quick flight, we do recommend the 20 minute flight as you see more. Our prices remained unchanged for over 8 years and we only just did the price rise due to the cost of insurance tripling for charter organisations due to covid and the American dollar, (all chopper parts come out of America) As for the flight being a dud you would be the first person in over 10 years of operation that has said that. But then again you never called to complain just did it over the internet..... But like I said - HAPPY TO PROVIDE YOU WITH FLIGHT TRACKING SO YOU CAN SEE YOU WERE IN THE AIR FOR LONGER THAN FIVE MINUTES.....

we booked through my friend Rob Ratcliffe, arrived there last Saturday on the agreed time for the 10.00am flight, no one there, no messages, no calls to say they've been delayed, nothing.

plenty of others had left messages on their board complaining about the same thing.

This pathetic and disrespectful and they've let us and many others down.

remove them from your site.

Apologies, we did try to get in contact with everyone. The reception out at Gorge is very patchy depending on your phone service provider. Our aircraft was called away for some emergency on this particular day. We apologise for the inconvenience that this causes. Phone reception heading to the gorge and surrounding areas is very patchy and sometimes hard to get hold of people.

I turned up for 1pm flight today.
I had a message of confirmation.
They did not show.
They didn’t tell me they weren’t coming
They are a waste of time
They are a disgrace and TripAdvisor should dump them

Thanks for you response Peter - we had blocked out the entire day for scenic flights so I am unsure as to why the online booking went though. I will look into that. We did contact everyone that we had correct contact details for to explain that the aircraft had to be taken to another job over these few days. We are sorry we missed you.

We took the 20 minute helicopter flight for $195 pp and really felt that it was well worth the price. Our pilot was Elliott and he gave us a great running commentary for the flight duration, clarifying exactly what we were looking at, and some history of the area. The actual gorge is a no fly zone, but there are other gorges a plenty in this rugged, inaccessible landscape with great views down into them from the air. The heli-pad is on the road into the gorge and only a short drive onto the visitor centre, where the all the gorge walks start. A wildfire had gone through the area so some of the gorge walks were closed, so we were pleased we took the helicopter option.

I have suffered from Chronic Fatigue for some years so can no longer walk the distance needed to visit the prime areas of the Gorge. Because of this, I decided to take a flight and asked about it as soon as we arrived. As we were staying for 3 nights, I was confident a place would come up. However this didn't happen although at least 2 flights did occur. It was really important for me as the only way to see the Gorge and I was very disappointed when we left this morning without the flight happening. It just made me feel like I didn't matter at all and I am quite upset.

Web site clearly states up to 4 people at $$99 or $165 each depending on time of flight, we arrived with 4 people only to be told helicopter only takes 3 which would be at the advertised price for groups and the fourth member could fly on there own at the full increased price. They blamed the web site for being wrong so not their fault and take no responsibility. Attitude was blunt and basically too bad take it or leave it, we left it. We were also told the 10 minute flight was useless and we would not see much at all, so why advertise it at all

This is definitely the best way to see the Carnarvon Gorge Region, well worth the money paid. I'm a photographer and this was an essential experience for me as I was able to get some photos I'm really happy with. If you are planning on visiting Carnarvon Gorge, budget to take this flight, 100% worth it.
