Awesome fun! We did this as a family activity. Mum, Dad and 2boys 15 and 17 years old. Staff were fantastic, all very chatty and approachable. We were sorted into groups very quickly, depending on ability so that you could ride at the speed that was comfortable for you, with easy options to change groups, as I did. After instruction, I felt very safe on the bike and my confidence grew. We were lucky all 4 of us ended up in the same group and it was like a personal tour through the dunes. Special shout-out to Steve! He was brilliant and had me pushing my limits on the bike, even getting some air going over the dunes. And I appreciated that he always checked to make sure we made it over the dune. As my youngest son is 15 he had to go on a interceptor 150cc quad, but he had as much fun as us and was easily able to keep up in the fast group. We just need to go back when he is 16! There were no problems with any of the bikes in our group and they all seemed really well maintained. We really look forward to doing this again one day. I would thoroughly recommend families or groups to give this a go as it definitely exceeded our expectations.

Booked the night before and locked in the 8am Safari package.
Check in at the venue was quick and easy. Safety is paramount. Then we hopped into a 4wd off to stockton beach. The beach was closed to the public but QBK have an arrangement in place with the national park service so that was cool knowing we would be the only ones on site (along with some rangers).
Then the cool part of riding the quad bikes. These quad bikes have alot of grunt and also felt safe to ride after being advised on the safe way to ride and how to turn by the staff before you set off.
Biking on the sand dunes was unreal and picturesque to have the beach in the backdrop as you ride. The staff were always checking to ensure riders were comfortable and gradually build your confidence with the different terrain.
Half way through you take a quick pit stop to take pics and a break then you're off again hitting the dunes.
Whole experience was seamless from start to finish and the ride was the cherry on top!!
Fun experience and would do it again next time I'm here.

The Stockton Sandhills are legendary and to be able to run around these on a quadbike was so much fun. The people at Quadbike King were terrific, friendly, helpful and full of good cheer and humour. Loved the bikes and they escorted us around, while all the time watching out for anyone that might have gotten into any trouble. Nobody did, thanks to their careful overseeing of the whole group. I'll go back.

We booked The Sandspit activity at Aud 119/head last minute and were lucky to have a time slot available.
We went to their office where we parked, signed all documentation and waited for their 4wd to take us to the quad bike location in the dunes. The wait was painful as it was hot and humid that day and there are no fans inside their office or in the waiting area outside. The toilet facilities were closed for maintenance and had 2 portable loos at site.
The quad bikes were in very good condition and all the staff was friendly and supportive. The activity site just has just one container where you try and put on helmets and leave your bags before riding. Sandspit activity has a small designated area inside which you ride the bike for one hour. I'd recommend Sandspit if you are going with kids, but as adults we got quite bored soon. There is beautiful sand and coast scenery which you just look at from far away. Totally not worth the price for us. Maybe the safari one is better but we were there for just one day and did not book that one. But for us there was no excitement, ups n downs or adrenaline rush during the activity.
On a side note, we all had paining thumbs after one hour as you use right thumb to press the accelerator of the bike constantly during the ride.
Quad bikes and staff were good, but the sandspit tour itself was not exciting or worth the price charged.

Very sorry your trip to Quad Bike King was not what was desired.
Yes, the Safari experience allows you to roam over the dunes.

The tour started 15 mins late, which was annoying because we had to get there an hour before hand. And they cut out 1h 45m session down to an 1h 20m and didn’t even address it. I felt a little ripped off, but it was still fun. Also our quad engine stalled and as a result we were put in the slow group meaning we went slow pretty much the whole time.

Hi there,
Due to restrictions imposed by the current pandemic, there are occasions when the beach, and access to the beach, is quite busy, which can result in our tours sometimes starting a bit late - we apologise for this, but it is very much out of our control.
Sorry to hear you had engine failure - please mention this next time you come and we'll try and provide a discount for you.

If you are up for some outdoor fun then this is an excellent way to have fun and also explore the biggest coastal sand dune area close to a major city .we did the combo ride starting with a run in the sand pit then on to the safari dune ride to the wreck and back. The guides organized everyone into 3 groups, fast, medium and slow riders, i was in the fast group and had to work hard to keep up with the leader, totally enjoyable

This tour is great, really fun and easy to do with little/no experience.
In saying that, I do feel the way people are sorted needs to be reassessed.
I was only asked about my confidence/experience once I was already geared up, on the bike and we had already done a quick lap and were being sorted into our groups. I have riden quad biked multiple times and am quite confident so it wasnt an issue but it was clear there were others who weren't.
In saying that the questions were 'how are you feeling? Have you riden before?' so you may find you get sorted into a group above/below your ability and while they state you can always drop back to a slower group, there isnt an option to go up. I felt my experience was restricted and frustrating and kind of diminished the fun. If you feel this way I recommend asking if you can go up as I assummed we would be able to change groups through the tour.
I feel like my experience was 3-4 stars but there is definitley 5 star potential if you get put in the right group. The track and location is amazing, the bikes are so much fun.
This is also the biggest Quad Bike tour (number wise- 6 people has been my max and there was easily over 15 in our group) I have done which I also thinks plays a part in perhaps a less personalised service.

Hi,
Many thanks for the feedback.
We'll definitely take your suggestions on board - the rides are very popular at the moment, hence the large group numbers.

Definitely a fun way to spend an hour burning around the sand dunes and along the beaches. Guides were good and bikes were fun to ride. It goes way too quick and before you know it you are driving back to the quad bike king office. FYI the bikes are automatic gearbox and thumb controlled throttle which in my opinion younger kifs may find harder to operate and ride with the group. Consider this so you don't get caught out like we did putting around with our youngest unable to ride competently.

These guys were super patient and very friendly. You leave your vehicle at the office and they take you into the sand dunes of Stockton Beach in their 4WD. This is an experience in itself! Once at the dunes, after a drive around in your quad, we were placed into groups based on confidence and experience. I was lucky enough to have no-one else in my group so it was like my own private tour guide. The guide took us quading up and down the dunes and along the beach for an entire hour, it was so much fun. You don't need any equipment, they provide a vest and you can take a phone, water bottle, keys...any small items which can go in a secure box on your quad. I thoroughly enjoyed my safari tour experience, the vehicles were big and felt safe and were easy to operate. Highly recommend this for teens through to any aged adults.

I arranged this experience for my partner's birthday, and we had an exceptional time. The guides were outstanding, the views were breathtaking, and the overall experience was fantastic. They made sure that we were riding at a comfortable level throughout the entire journey and were very attentive. Once they noticed we were getting more confident, they encouraged us to increase our speed. I highly recommend this experience. If you have been hesitant about participating, I encourage you to go for it; you will not be disappointed.

Can you do this tandem? I am scared to go on my own!
Written 13 February 2018
My son (14) and daughter (17) rose the quads, never ridden one before and they had no issues at all. If you do the sand dune trip, they put you on the red (smaller) quads which are quite safe.

Will we make it on time for the combo 2hr tour at 2.45pm if we have a 3hr whale watching tour from moonshadow at 10am in the morning?
Written 15 June 2016
I didnt see any tandem bikes where I went but you can travel at your own speed and stay safe.
