It was our first multi day hike and we didn't quite know what to pack, what to do with the car etc so we decided to go with the premium package offered by Easyhike. Easyhike made it possible for us to hike the track (we did it in three days, they booked the hut tickets, provided gear and food and... More

This is my first NZ great walk! I have chosen the bad weather but despite the rain I had seen the best of the track! I started at the Divide along Milford Road all the way up to the Shelter (Glenorchy side). It was a 32km walk one way. Highlights of my walk are (not in particular order) (1) Earland... More

We used Trackhoppers to let us day-hike the Routeburn. Michael and Kiyomi were very flexible and gave us lots of good tips on how to plan our hike. Getting the lockbox was easy, and our driver, Ron, was really pleasant when we met him in Glenrochy to drop it back off. If you want the flexibility to start and end... More

I know I was looking for this info, so I want to put something out for people who may be interested. We did the routeburn track in one day, including a few side tracks along the way (e.g. key summit ) We did it in late April, the weather that day was wonderful, sunshine and the track was dry. Under... More

On my way to Milford Sounds I did the Key Summit but the weather was not great so I cannot comment on that. When I was in Queenstown / Glenorchy I decided to start the track from the other side with expectations to only reach the Falls and come back. However, it took me less than 2hours! That is where... The Routeburn trek was amazing - a definite highlight for us during our time in New Zealand. Absolutely beautiful scenery which included alpine environments, lakes, rainforest and stunning views all around. It was relatively accessible and would be doable with a moderate level of fitness though there are a few sections that are quite steep and some bits still had... More

The half day walk to key summit is a must whilst in the area. It says 3 hours return but we did it in just over 2 and that was with a generous stop at the top. The first part of the track is sheltered with trees and shade, the second part is more exposed. The top is quite flat... More

We - a group of 4, just completed hiking the entire Routeburn track & it is definitely an activity I would recommend We started the hike from the Divide Shelter around 11:30 AM on a pleasant spring morning - weather was drizzly (We had arranged Tracknet to pick us up from Queenstown CBD at 6:55 am & made a brief... Each day of this walk offered breathtaking views. Starting from the Routeburn Shelter I completed the walk in 3 days, staying at the Routeburn Falls hut my first night, MacKenzie Hut my second night, and ending at The Divide after my third day of walking. Splitting the walk up in this manner made each day feel completely manageable in terms... More
