We visited this wee gem of a theatre when we stayed at Stewart Island New Year 2018.
It is a beautiful wee theatre - a miniature of a large theatre and enjoyed the local movie - "A Locals Tail".

Visited this great little theatre with local version on the history and background of Stewart Island and South Island of NZ. Produced and edited by the owners (primarily) the ~45 minuted film was well worth the effort. Much local pictures and history, with colourful narration
We unfortunately were too late for the show, but what a way to see Stewart Island by a little yellow tuk tuk with Aussie Pete.
He was a fantastic guide, made us laugh, we learnt so much.
This really is a must do.
Great way to spend an hour on a wet afternoon. Quaint movie, good insight into history and Island development and industries over time. Loved the fire fighter bit at the end. Could watch those guys in a movie of their own!
