This a very famous and iconic NZ attraction. Yes, it is quite expensive. If you can't afford it, don't do it! The whole experience was excellent. It is very professionally run. The scenery on the ride is amazing and the ride itself is great fun. It is not an extreme thrill ride by any stretch of the imagination so suitable for all. My wife and I loved it and my 10 year old son thought it was one of the best things ever!

Expensive for a family of 4 and not sure if it was worth the money, an elderly lady on the bank complained to us about the price also saying she couldn't afford to go with her whanau. The driver spoke too much about irrelevant things, telling us that we can ring them and get a spot on the river but we have to let them no first, we are all tourist, the talk was irrelevant, then she was picking and choosing who she would interact with and speak nice too and had the audasity to laugh and joke that she was from Auckland, this is the driver! well I wish I'd known that before I got in the boat, I wouldn't have got in! Especially after the resent positive covid escapey, I don't not like Aucklanders at all I just wish I was told, then I could make an informed decision for me and my whanau weather to ride or not. We would've liked to hear about Maori history of the awa considering this is owned by Ngai Tahu apparently!. Well ya wouldn't know it, It was just another business money making venture with a bit of Maori tokenism thrown in there, sorry but the other jet boat providers do better history lessons and if you've been on those ones then you've heard it all before. Uniqueness is what is needed here not the same old, same old. Would've been nice to hear her mention the name of the awa once, it would've been nice to hear her mention Ngai Tahu once, nope nothing! She didn't even mention shot over jet. The shop has mimimal Ngai Tahu merchandise, and in terms of clothing, what is there definitely doesn't cater to any one bigger then a large, sorry but the other providers beat you on that too, I was very disappointed by this experience. We thought we were going to get a unique experience, it was far from it.

Kia ora Bubbyw, Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback, it is extremely important to us to hear our manuhiri's thoughts on our experience, so we can keep on improving our product. We are deeply sorry to hear you did not have a 5 star experience with us. As a business we welcome everyone from all over New Zealand and are sad to hear that you may not have wished to travel with those travelling from Auckland. We can also confirm all of our staff and manuhiri are fully vaccinated. All of our drivers have unique trips and commentary styles and we appreciate your feedback from your trip and are always looking at ways to increase our te reo and history into our experience. Without your valued feedback, we would be unable to further improve our experience for future manuhiri. If there is any further feedback you wish to share we would love to hear from you - reservations@shotoverjet.co.nz. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Queenstown. Nga Mihi Sophie

This was an Awesome family experience. The kids are still buzzing and they loved the buffs. The team are so friendly and engaging while the ride was spectacular. I also believe it was good value for your money too. You’ve got to do this at least once!!

Excellent experience, glad I read reviews of all the jet boat experiences in the area, Shotover Jet came tops and they definitely did not disappoint. I’m glad I also opted for these guys and gals. All the staff very welcoming , friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. What a great time. Due to Covid obviously business all over is a little bit quiet, but staff made sure they could consolidate everyone together so we would not miss out. Instead of the 1pm I was moved to 3pm, but it’s understandable as business need to make some money. I mean the boats are not cheap at $500k plus each and staff wages etc. Was glad to support a NZ business while travelling around the South Island for a break. Nardia was a great driver and full of jokes, I forget the little photographers name but she was adorable and funny. The ride was exhilarating and fast, yes we got wet and the 360’s were awesome. The professional vids also great, I didn’t realise they have cameras on the rocks and more that capture your experience as well close ups just missing the rocks. Was a little cold so heated handrails were a bonus. Was nice t9 see the parts of the river not many do as Shotover has the only licence to operate there. Thanks again to the entire team.

A fun ride and a privilege to get on the river to see the beautiful scenery. I ride itself was a little more tame than I expected but nonetheless it was a great experience. The driver was very friendly and chatty, he clearly knew the river and the boat. Business seems a bit slow, only four of us on the boat on our trip. Highly recommend supporting this iconic attraction.
