    Stunning!
We loved the gardens! We were fortunate to be able to walk in and out of town to our accommodation and we always detoured through the gardens both ways after discovering them on our first day. So beautiful and well planted. Beautiful sculptures mixed in with the plants and a disc golf circuit. So much we didn’t explore too.

    Afternoon Stroll
I had some time after lunch to look around and went for a walk in the gardens. I started with the harbour view walk which goes along the lake front. The views along that path were amazing and it was fairly quiet and a nice place to just have a slow stroll with scenic views. I had come from Queenstown Beach and the path looped up to Park Street, which has the main entrance of the Botanical Gardens. The gardens themselves wasn't very large but did have a couple of interesting areas. The pond area had the rotunda on one end and the Bowls Club on the other. This place was the busiest with plenty of people walking along the pond. There was a nice flower archway between the Bowling Club and the park but on the back path (left path if you are heading away from the pond). There is also a nice grassy area between the Bowling Club and the pond with entrances from both paths. Further along, past the tennis courts there is a nice garden area with quite a few memorial items scattered about. There were much less people here. There is also a frisbee golf course in the gardens, with the starting area close to the pond. It was a really nice place to walk around and take in some nature. It doesn't take long to walk through the park but you are also able to just hide out here when you find a nice spot.

A second choice activity, but a good one!
On a day that our sightseeing flight to Milford Sound was cancelled (we were very disappointed), we consoled ourselves by going out for a walk while we processed the fact that our final day in Queenstown (& NZ) had been scuttled by high winds. Little did we know that the walk through Queenstown Gardens (and the adjacent Lake Path) were just what we needed! It was so peaceful, differing views appearing at each turn, and lovely people out enjoying a hidden gem of this town gave us the change of mind that we needed. I would not say that this walk replaced the thrills that the Milford Sound would have afforded us, but it was an awesome substitute! P.S. The winds in Queenstown were quite calm.

Beautiful place for leisurely walk and kids to play. Lots of bathrooms!
Great place to have a beautiful walk. Excellent kids playground with water running through part of it. You will see a rose garden, tennis courts, bocce ball, ice rink, tall trees that surround the upper area with the lake down below. There is a cafe near the ice rink. Loads of bathrooms. Bring a picnic and enjoy the peaceful area.

    Beautiful well kept gardens
We recently stayed in Queenstown on holiday, and we stumbled upon the lovely Queenstown Gardens. We made use of the many walking paths to take an extensive hike one morning after breakfast. The Queenstown Gardens are easy to locate from the town, and they are well marked for walking and horticulture. There are several monuments and sculptures to view. Additionally, the Queenstown Bowling Club is right next to the gardens. Among the flora are all different varieties and colors of roses. The paths will take you through the forest and along the waterside as well. There's even an ultimate Frisbee park and plenty of benches if you need to rest. Tip: There is no admission charged to the Queenstown Gardens. You won't find any refreshments for sale in the gardens, nor any restroom facilities. Both are on the outskirts prior to the entrance of the Queenstown Gardens.

Lovely gardens to go for a walk around, stunning views. There’s also lawn bowls, tennis courts and a frisbee golf course. We played a game of lawn bowls in such a beautiful part of Queenstown. A lovely place on the edge of the lake, easy to walk to.

Beautiful walk by the lake, through a forest, then through sculpted gardens
Get away from the crowds for a while and enjoy this peninsula of Queenstown...it's free. The weather started nice but got drizzly, it didn't matter to us. We talked to the Frisbee golfer, took pics of flowers and loved the lake views. The cafe looked inviting but we were "coffee'd" up.

Don't miss this gorgeous oasis right in the heart of Queenstown
We found this fabulous garden by accident as we kept walking through Queenstown proper and headed around the lake. What a find! Amazing trees including a giant Sequoia, beautiful sculptures, a forested area where a game of frisbee golf was in progress, and all with stunning views of the lake. A true oasis amid the happy craziness of Queenstown!

    Nice place for a stroll
Nice trail along the waterfront just as you leave the towns restaurants and stores. Huge trees line the path and a frisbee golf course hides in the shade. Up top is a beautiful area containing rose garden, sculptures, a tennis court and lawn bowling. Worth a stroll especially on a sunny day.

What a beautifully maintained garden. The tree specimens were fantastic and the paths were easy to follow and most had spectacular views of the lake. Unfortunately the day was pretty windy when we visited so we just walked the high tracks and not the lakefront tracks. It's a great place for picnics or walking your dog or for children to burn off some energy.

The gardens are a beautiful place to walk. The walk takes you alongside the Wakatipu lake and there are many places to sit if you are tired. There is the short walk and the long walk with maps put up at many places. Just sit and gaze into the silence of the lake or play around with children , there is something to do for everybody. For children there is a huge play area.
On saturdays there is a flea market so just stroll around

If you want a bit of chill time then walk through the gardens. They are not a massive botanical gardens but they are free and there is a lot of interest especially the fascinating frisbee golf game that is played by the locals. If you walk through the garden entrance you can walk back along the waters edge path and enjoy views of the lake. Never expect too much for nothing but this is a great way to enjoy a few hours in the sun and a very pleasant walk.

It was refreshing to discover the gardens and walk round the edge of the lake on a warm day. Well formed path and great view of boat antics in the bay. We returned via a different path through the middle of the gardens and discovered tennis courts, bowls, duck pond, statues. Plenty of huge trees to shelter from the sun.

We were looking for our lodging when we found this park. We immediately parked the car and went in. It is really nice. There are lots of really big trees - even giant sequoia. They have names on about everything - and I really liked that.
The roses were all still in bloom, but a little past their prime.
There were people lying all over the place reading and just enjoying the day.
There is a lawn bowling "place" inside that has about 4-5 "lawns". Bathroom is near there as well.
There is a stream up the middle where ducks are swimming around.
All in all a really pleasant surprise since we were not looking for it.

Lovely clean and pleasant park, lots to enjoy. Duck feeding is a big thing, with the Lions Club selling bags of feed for $2. Frisbee golf sounds interesting and the sculptures were good. Nice big pond and the flowers must have been outstanding in the summer

I was really impressed in the gardens . They had lovely walking tracks which overlooked the stunning lake and township with really nice areas of well looked after gardens . With an iceskating rink, bowling club and Frisbee area as well as the lovely plants and views it was worth taking the time to relax and enjoy.

A wonderful relaxing walk around the beautiful gardens, only 5 minutes walk from downtown Queenstown on a peninsula. full of native plants and exotics, roses, and wonderful sculptures by local artists. The memorial to 3 deceased Queenstown mountaineers was quite moving. The sculptures were beautiful and looked great in the garden setting, the diving dog sculpture was so funny with its goofy look on its face, well worth a visit with great views across the lake

A new experience for the family.

Well worth the time - free if you have your own frisbees or you can hire them from the Ice Rink in the gradens - just check the opening hours and days beforehand.

Fun way to spend a few hours - you'l probably want to play twice
