You can actually drive most cars on to this beach. It is so huge. No wonder it was used to test speed times. Well worth seeing, even if you are not Interested in motorbikes.

Worth a visit just to see a long beach where Burt Munro rode his bike. Great sand dunes for kids to play amongst but very very windy. Make sure everyone has glasses or goggles to keep sand out of eyes and a warm jacket! Unlikely...More

I just had to go out to the beach to relive childhood memories.I drove down as far as I felt safe enough to.I have spent many times as a kid helping to dig the family car out of the quick sand.
