I am not the "park" seeing type of guy but I must say I was very impressed. A free aviary and small animal area were a pleasant surprise and our kids loved it. The park itself is outstanding in March, Highly recommend.

This park has the most beautiful rose gardens. There is a gorgeous Peter Pan statue bequeathed to the children of the city.

Came down from Hamilton and I am in love with the playground. It has great facilities and fantastic cafe to get a coffee while you watch the children play.

Plenty to do to keep young and old alike occupied for a few hours. Duck ponds, animals, playgrounds, fitness track, golf, rose garden, walking tracks, pathways, museum right on the doorstep, cafe on site... The park is located nearby the CBD, and corners several major streets in the city. Plenty of parking near all entries, so what isn't to love?

Roses through summer are stunning. The native garden is great all year round. The sculptures are also worth a look. A traditional garden with modern pieces, animals and ducks to provide an interactive experience for youngsters and oldies alike. A great place to visit. Walkways are generous in size, clean and flat. Come and enjoy.

Lovely area close to the city centre. Enjoyed the stumpery. Good to see the branches and the sculptures. Cafe in the park good value. Warm and clean. Good variety of food and good service. Nice to walk along the paths. Calm atmosphere. Great to walk along the stream and see the ducks. Loved the rose garden. Park is very close... More

Amazing foresight by locals to put aside such a large tract of land for public gardens. Wonderful to walk through and enjoy.

We were staying nearby and walked to find the I-site to get more local information. To get to the I-site we cut through the park. The I-site is located with the local museum and art gallery, but the best bit was the Tuataraium - a great hidden gem of a reptile house with several tuatara. Brilliant. Interesting and the tuatara... More

The children love this place. Fantastic animals and playground. A jewel in the heart of the city. Even though it was cold we made out way here.
