Kudos to the City and citizens of Invercargill for creating and maintaining such an amazing park. In my opinion it is a model for the world to follow. Just north of Invercargill's city centre, Queens Park sprawls across 80 beautiful hectares. Special features include a...More
A wonderful place to walk, smell, relax, and take time to smell the roses. If you walk through the park once, you haven’t done it justice. I’ve traversed it now about four different ways and keep finding beautiful pockets to explore. What’s a stumpers -...More

The Cheeky Llama is a pleasant spacious café. I've had blue cod and chips there but its not a restaurant, more a family café. Oddly enough there aren't any specialist sea food restaurants in Invercargill although there used to be. However most restaurants have sea food choices although I don't know which would be best.
A good question which I'll make enquiries about.
Generally NZ doesn't seem to celebrate sea food although its certainly available on menus. Strange though given the importance of fishing. Oysters are treated as gems.
