Elm Wildlife Tours are the ultimate award winning New Zealand wildlife adventure. I had visited the private beach with an Elm Wildlife tour three years ago but still learnt so much more due to the fabulous knowledge and enthusiasm of David. We saw a whole range of wildlife including yellow eyed penguins, seals, sea lions and we even spotted a whale out at sea. We saw a little owl 5 times which... More

We took Max tour. Boat trip (Monarch) to see penguins plus albatross plus seals at sea, then visit to Albatross Centre to see birds and chicks on nest, then magical tour of Elm's nature reserve. Seeing yellow eyed penguins which are so rare, up close was a special experience, then walking past huge male sealion with his entourage of young... More

If you only do one thing near Dunedin this should be it! The Elm Wildlife Tours was really a highlight of my entire trip to New Zealand. The peninsula itself is so incredibly picturesque and then you throw in seeing Royal Albatrosses, Hookers Sea Lions and baby Fur Seals and it couldn't get much better, but it does and that's... We stayed at Portobello but also from Dunedin, this tour is an absolute must when you like wildlife. Our guides Donna and David were very good, informative and had a lot of humor. The first part was a bit disappointing seeing only 1 albotros high in the sky, but when we got to a private beach the sealions and yellow... More

This 6 1/2 hour tour was an excellent introduction to the wildlife of the Otago Peninsula. The guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We were in a twenty person van with 18 guests and two guides. In addition to several endemic and imported birds - including black swans, royal spoonbills, white faced herons, three species of gull, three species of cormorant,... More

Bus picked up up in the middle of a hail storm making the beginning a little eventful. By the time we arrived at the Albatross center it was a light shower but we still saw a number of these magnificent birds. By the time we arrived to see the sea lions, fur seals, and penguins the sky had cleared. We... More

I spent a few hours on a day tour on Dunedin Peninsula with Elm Wildlife Tours. I payed extra for the Albatrosses place. It was an amazing trip with best and close wildlife spotting (albatrosses, fur seals, sea lions, yellow-eyed penguins). There were a few short but steep walks to do. One of the best 'tourist thing' I spent money... More

Initially I was a bit of a skeptic paying a fairly large sum of money for a 5-6 hour walking tour, however drawn by the promises of wildlife and the positive reviews we booked anyway. I'm incredibly glad we did and what an experience. The guides Ben and Donna were incredibly informative, probably the best we've ever come across. This... More

Our pick-up was at the i-site downtown but we got dropped off right at our hotel. The tour guide was very well informed and helpful. We got to see lots of fur seals, a couple sea lions, and several yellow-eyed penguins. Elm Wildlife has its own wildlife refuge. We added the option of guided tour of the Royal Albatross Centre,...
