Beautiful colourful gardens

The gardens are well-kept and have wonderful walks in a hilly terrain. There are views of the bay. Easy to get to with bus 18 from town.

a family group of two couples went there for lunch. We sat outside at the rear of the indoor seating. It was quiet and private. We each had a different lunch and a glass of wine. The meals were fresh and tasty. Wine beautiful. Waiting staff friendly and helpful . Afterwards we had a stroll through part of the beautiful... More

The Otago Peninsula is such a beautiful part of South Island. The gardens at Glenfalloch are must on a visit to Dunedin. Beautiful trees and lots of woodland trails.

A gem of a garden with many trails and nice displays. You have to climb a lot but the many trails wind throughout the trees and stream. Wish we had come when the cafe was open.

We chose the 3 plate chef choice menu and it was to be the best decision. We had a taster and then three plates of variation, all delicious, hard to chose a favourite. Stand out items were the ginger carrots, pumpkin purée and jue with the lamb plate and the strawberry sorbet and crunch element of the desert. The tasteful... More

The garden has a few paths to follow. Many are closed, overgrown or indistinct. Some of the plants are labelled. A quiet place. We didn't visit the cafe or restaurant.

This beautiful garden facing the sound has outstanding plantings of horticultural interest. There is even a newer Rotary garden on the side of Glenfalloch which was planted in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Rotary. The garden has a long canyon in the middle separating the homestead from the entrance and parking area. The canyon has spectacular old plantings of... More

The garden is broken into various sections. The easy to reach parts are stunningly beautiful. The harder to reach parts have aspects that are of interest to the plantsman (or woman). However it pays to have footware for hiking to reach these parts of the garden. Not for those unsure on slopes. The rhododendrons were fabulous and well worth seeing.... More

I was with a group of gardeners staying at Larnach Castle for a few days & was told this garden is a must see!! We were not disappointed. The spring flowers in the morning dew were a beautiful sight! The natural setting & it's age give this garden a romantic timeless feel, reminiscent of many of the old UK gardens.... More
