The Gondola ride and the views from the top of Port Hills make it a must do activity for first-time visitors to Christchurch. There is an awesome cafe at the top with plentiful selections. Admission tickets are just $28 per adult and it includes a...More

The drive up the hills is amazing, windy road and awesome views. Once you get up to the hills, there's spots to stop at and walk over to look at the panoramic view of the town. Great spot for sunsets!

Several varied and well posted walking and cycling tracks. Gondola restaurant an added bonus. Road to various vantage points is good, one section closed following earthquake damage in 2011, but most is accessible by car.

Saw tracks for mountain bikers, walkers and runners. A heaven for those who love trails. The hills are lush and green in Autumn...whatever the season it's a stunning place to be in. Don't forget to drive down Summit road that leads to Sumner.

Awesome for motorbiking, driving, push biking up, or just going up and walking around. Leads to Lyttelton and surrounding bays, so well worth the extra 8kms compared to going via the tunnel.

There are heaps of tracks that you can choose. I took the track from Taylor's Mistake to Godley Head. Such a pretty place to explore. On a nice day you'll see other walkers and runners.
