A lovely spot on the peninsula. Has a great café and pub, a new Community Centre and the local swimming pool is now heated. A jetty and foreshore walk to explore and you can walk to the Maori Gardens from Sandy Bay.

We spent a full day driving around the environs of Christchurch. We drove through Lyttelton, Governor's Bay, Arvarka, Little River, etc, ( My notes may misspell some of those names. The scenery was awesome. It is well worth one day of your trip.
