My husband and I really enjoyed "Punting on the Avon." Our young punter was full of information and good cheer, and it was so relaxing to glide through the gardens.

Took advantage of the lovely weather to go on a punt trip on the River Avon. You are beside the botanic gardens. Good commentary kept minimal but informative in keeping with this relaxed type of trip.

Well worth a visit, even if it's only to say hello to the resident cat! the staff are friendly and the food is not over priced.

You can rent a kayak, a paddle boat or spend some real cash and be punted down the Avon by a boatman in period costume. The most economical trip is to book a private cruise in advance and you will save money and have a romantic moment

Had lunch with a friend. She had their lamb sandwich, which was fine. Sadly the same thing couldn't be said of the "market fish". Rather than being fresh and moist it was very dry. Not at all what I was expecting (fresh fish, well-prepared). At least the flat white was okay ...

We spent an hour in a Canadian canoe & paddled up into the Botanical Gardens. The staff at the Antigua Boat Sheds were really helpful & friendly. A great way to spend an hour or so in a beautiful environment

The sheds were built in the late 19th century and nestle alongside the river Avon. They now house a cafe and cycle and canoe hire facilities. If you feel less energetic you can sit in a punt and be ferried now the river for half an hour. It's a great way to chill on a hot afternoon.

We enjoyed paddleboating and kayaking along this beautiful, tranquil river flowing through the heart of Christchurch. You don't have to be very fit to enjoy paddling your own way up the river but you can always get a punt to take you if you're not sure. We also enjoyed the wildlife visible along the way.
