Just a 10 minute ferry ride from Lyttelton (and free for NZ Gold Card holders!) Diamond Harbour is a pleasant diversion from the city traffic. Limited food offerings so a picnic might be recommended. There is a pleasant coastal walk to Purau if you have...More

Well worth the drive out from Christchurch or get the ferry from Lyttleton. Purau, just a little further on offers a peaceful relaxing place to picnic and swim.

We lived at Diamond Harbour for 3 years a while back, and most days we drove the long and winding road of 220 corners to ChCh. So it was a trip down memory lane to return with our adult daughter, son in law and grandsons....More

As a day trip from Christchurch, this is a an excellent option. An easy drive or the no 28 bus leaves every 30 minutes from ChCh central, ends at Norwich Quay where you wiggle your way around some temporary fencing to the dock for the...More

If you ever want to feel what Creece feels like head here on a hot Summer day. Sheltered bays, warm sun, warmer and deep waters than CHCH and great swimming and F&B this is the place we love. Go sailing, windsuring and enjoy DEEP water!...More

We visitede Diamond Harbour via the ferry from Lyttleton. The pace here is a slower one than over the water in CHCH, and it is s great place to unwind and relax.

Tucked away across the bay from busy Christchurch, this little village feels as if it is miles away, yet only half an hour by car, even quicker by the ferry. It offers something for everyone, places to eat, numerous walking tracks and a nearby golf...More
