These pretty colonial building are still earthquake wrecked, although restoration is underway. So you can't visit but you can look from the street. When you are allowed to vist, remember tocheck out the assembly room which has fabulous wood and stone carvings.

I had a wedding here. Though I planned to visit again 10 years after marriage...I hope that it will be rebuilt in the same beautiful building as before!

Next to the Art Gallery, the buildings seem to have survived the earthquake and do not show the damage of those nearby....could be just the first buildings to be rebuilt.

Sadly, some of those once beautiful buildings lie in ruins, still waiting for rebuilding and repairs. Still, they can still be appreciated for what they once were, hoping they'd soon be restored to their original beauty.

All the reviews prior to 22 February 2011 are correct, it was a real gem but was reduced to a ruin by the earthquakes that day and since then. I hope it can be reconstructed.
