My hour or so spent at Clos Henri, in the adorable chapel was made extremely wonderful by the unpretenous, knowledegable, petite french lady. She guided me through the differences in the pinot and sav grown in the different soils. Twas a lovely afternoon. (Although i wosh they would fix those potholes on the drive!)

The tasting room was an actual chapel and is cute as a button. French owners have created an inviting and attractive spot. Beautiful grounds.

The setting is beautiful with the tasting room in the little chapel. It is a bit further out of town of the main drag of wineries. The vintner doing our tasting was from France and seemed a bit pretentious about their wines and not inviting to questions. She seemed judgemental that we did not know about the area of France... Perhaps the least ostentatious, but the most welcoming vineyard of our tour, was Clos-Henri. They moved a small chapel here for there tasting room which creates an intimate and old-town setting. Even though the winery was begun in 2000, it feels like it has been here forever. Our French and English-speaking host. Add it feel that way, spending time with... More

I really enjoyed all the wines sampled in Clos Henri, $5 tasting fee is well worth it!. We got there just after 10am on Sat, place got busy were quickly. Wish we had more time to spend there. The location is very cute and the girl that served us was very friendly.

This winery uses a former small chapel as a tasting room. They only produce Pinot Noir and Saugegon Blanc. Very pleasant wines to drink and a most personable host to present them. The winery has a very interesting story which they will tell you.

...which may be a little unexpected since the region is more known for Sauvignon Blanc. The cellar door/tasting room was set in an old church which was nicely decorated. Very good wines! Highly recommended.

We've visited several wineries in Marlborough, but none like this one. All the others were busy bustling businesses, with visitors sampling different wines and vintages in vast reception areas, diners filling up on great platters etc. Clos Henri consists of one small and intimate church, transported intact from a neighbouring village, with a single enthusiastic, friendly and very efficient French... This is a beautiful little winery producing French style wines. The little church is the tasting cellar and is staffed by French staff. The wines are very good and this is a great stop to finish off your wine tour day in the Marlborough region.

We spent a lovely hour here with Cecile whose evident enthusiasm shone through. Delicious Wine and lots of interesting anecdotes. Thank you. Worth the effort to find particularly after the rather more mechanised and less personal welcome one receives at the likes of Cloudy Bay.
