My husband and I were travelling in a campervan between Queenstown and Haast, and decided to stop and view the falls. We wished we hadn't once we drove off the road into the car park (which you can't see properly until it's too late) -...More

We were driving from Queenstown to Franz Josef, needed to kill some time, and wanted to see a bit more of the scenery, so we stopped. It's not very high and is some distance from the viewing stand. The sign at the entrance to the...More

Very short walk from the road provides easy access. Interesting to see the creative cairns that have been built.

A short walk from the car park mostly on tarmac path. Suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. There is a viewing platform at the end which is your photo spot.

Nice little work to the falls. I'm not a fan of the stone towers but get their appeal to most. Sorry if i knocked yours over.

The falls are decent, the creek is clear and cold, but the stone towers made from the flat river rocks are amazing. They are all over the place and very unique and interesting. So go see the falls, but take some pictures of the stone...More

A short walk from a car park there is a beautiful waterfall with a natural area where people have been contributing towers of flat stones. It can make it tricky to walk around!

Fantail falls was a bit boring, but it’s not about the falls. Because of the flat river bed stones surrounding the falls, visitors over time have built hundreds of little monuments. It’s absolutely amazing. Well worth s visit. Car park can be full, it’s only...More

A relatively small but beautiful waterfall a short walk from the parking - a great place to pause, maybe even picnic and to take in the views. You’re on a scenic drive - you need to stop and look at the scenery.
