This is a wonderful place to meet up with the dog club and take the dogs for a run through the park. It is also a pleasant spot to take overseas visitors and a picnic lunch. So close to the city yet so quiet and back to nature.

If you are in good shape, walk the bush track up the KoroKoro Valley (going down is easy). It takes about 20 minutes to climb from the small park at the bottom of the hill to the KoroKoro school, and has some very steep sections. Although it is paved all the way, it can be slippery with moss and leaves.

We've been walking in the Korokoro Valley area (entering from Oakleigh Street or Cornish Street) for many years. Once you get to it, the bush is really lovely and the dam is a lovely place to eat your sandwiches. We've always taken back packs as you can't drive to the dam and it takes at least half an hour to... More

Out of the way (unless you live in Korokoro), this little patch of bush and streams is a lovely place to walk yourself or the dog. The dam is a popular place to picnic.
