We loved this zoo. We went on a drizzly day and we practicality had the zoo to ourselves. It was awesome how up close and personal you can get to the animals here. I preferred it to Auckland zoo. We got to feed some animals...More

The Wellington Zoo is amazing to visit and is very hands on when it comes to interacting people with the Zoo keepers and the animals. Great for the family or even couples wanting to have a cute day out somewhere.

The zoo is well-laid out with lots of interesting little bits for the kids along the way as you explore all the animals. Definitely worth a visit and an easy 15 minute bus ride from central Wellington city.

Went with a 3 year old and they had a blast. Fairly small zoo, not alot of animals, but at least the pens aren't just concrete. Very hilly, but I guess it is Wellington. Close to the city, great for small children

We have been here as a family with younger children quite a few times. It is always fun to take the kids to the zoo. Have always had good experiences here.

It is really nice ZOO. They really take care of animals. Zoo is like a big garden/forest - looks really natural and with good enviroment for them.

Wellington zoo is an awesome activity to do. It has a wide range of animals you can see and if you go to the feeding times you can see them get fed.

No, Wellington Zoo doesn't have hedgehogs on display. Hedgehogs can be seen from time to time around our house in Dunedin.
