We arrived at the Canoe and Kayak shop before 9am and met the other participants. After a briefing we boarded the van and drove the short distance to the starting point. Jayden gave us an excellent explanation of what to expect and how to adjust the settings on the kayaks. We set off and had an enjoyable paddle around to the rock carvings and were also given the story behind the carvings. After going ashore for a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits we set off again on the return journey. All in all it was a great morning with a relaxed atmosphere and the trip was well-run. Highly recommended!

Perfect length of trip even though I hadn’t paddled for months. Great way to really feel you’ve really engaged with the lake beyond just looking at it and swimming briefly around the edges. Expert guide - felt totally secure even when wind made things a bit rough.

A blue bird morning on Lake Taupo without a breath of wind making it perfect for a paddle out to the carving of Ngatoroirangi. Our guide, Jar, was awesome, knowledgeable and most of all safe, helping out all members of the party from the novices to the more experienced, making it an enjoyable experience for all. Some good coffee and laughs along the way with the opportunity for a swim in the crystal clear lake at half way was a perfect summer morning adventure.
