Met in Taupo with the entire family so it was important to find something for everyone. Huka falls did not disappoint. Long walks for the teen adventurer, shorter walks for the 65+ and toddlers. We would absolutely return...

Good parking and good paths to the various viewing areas. You can see at first where the river comes through a narrow section, making the water increase in power and speed. Then the falls are where it charges through and the colours are aqua and so clear. Many information boards explain the process and the way the river is used... More

Beautiful to watch, I have been here a few times on my trips to NZ, it's a great spot to stop when travelling down from Auckland by car. There are many things to do in the area but the view point on the bridge is a good place to start, the sheer power and speed of the water can keep... More

These Falls are very beautiful.. They are very nice to get a picture beside them.. There are side walk to get closer to them.. Parking can be a pain but if you are patient it's easy to get a spot within or 10 minutes Love love love

These water falls are well worth a visit if you are in the area, a powerful horizontal waterfall. Note parking at the main carpark can get limited.

40 min from Rotorua. Short walk but with amazing views. Love the colour of the waterfalls. If you are up for challenge, sign up for the speed boat ride along the falls but be prepared to get wet. Prepare a set of clothes for change.

The falls are situated just outside Taupo. The falls are spectacular and worth the stop. The walk along side the falls are nice which also gives you the opportunity to take some nice photos. The other great thing is that this is all for free.

We stopped here on our way out of Taupo, definitely worth a visit, we didn't do any of the long hikes/walks due to time but was mind blowing the amount of water rushing through each minute!

Not quite the Niagra Falls, but good to look at. Good parking, not the usual tourist trap with excessive prices (it's free!) and over priced tat.

If you're in Taupo you have to visit Huka Falls, totally amazing to see the start of The Waikato River. To think some people go over the drop in kayaks, Boogie board etc.... is truely incredible .
