Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful rivers with mix of cold and hot water. Not too busy and perfect on a warm day and it’s free which is great. Honestly one of the best swims we’ve had in Nz

A lovely spot! A short walk from the carpark to the waters edge, and there’s toilets and a cafe. The water is warm rather than hot, and the river water is refreshingly cool. A nice outlook. The kids had fun hopping between the different bits of water

The warm water out of the rocks is nice but not as hot as last year but I have heard that it is because of the new geothermal powerstation taking away the heat. But it's still a lovely place to be there and relax.

What an amazing view and clean public facilities as usual. The coffee shop offers an excellent service. However if you travel for the thermal pool experience please don't come here specially in Winter time. It will be a waste of time - Heard the local council diverted the hot springs - anyone can confirm this?

we were expecting a hot pool to relax our tired feet, but maybe because it is summer time, the Otumuheke Stream hot pool is actually very cool. nevertheless, it is a good natural swimming pool.

The main attraction of this park is the river which is naturally warm. Warm enough to kick back and relax in. Worth the walk through the reserve to get to the natural hot pool.

Very picturesque and fabulous walking tracks along the riverbank. I think there could be better signposting as we couldn’t find the track once we went to the toilets. If you don’t like dogs stay away, so many doggies with happy faces enjoying the walk.

I went for a walk to the hot water pool and river. Quite an easy walk down, a wee bit steeper to go back up. Just so picturesque and beautiful. Great little kiosk there for a cold drink or ice cream when it gets too hot. Lots of people there, but still have your own space. Only bad thing was I saw a dirty nappy that someone had put by a rock instead of the rubbish bin. Everything else was great. The park itself is gorgeous with lovely trees and frisbee golf. Plenty of carparks.

Truly beautiful spot. It has recently had some upgrades to it, and has pretty good facilities for changing. There is also a small cafe on site. The river is pretty dangerous, so you need to keep an eye on little ones. It has a couple of lovely warm pools, but every time we come it is quite busy. We tried to bring our 7-month-old here for the first time but it was too busy for us to take her for a little dip. The scenery is gorgeous though, and there are beautiful trails to hike.

Spa park and hot water stream has always been a family favourite, however after walking the picturesque track from hula falls to spa park found the stream to be luke warm??? It has been redeveloped recently which looks good and shouldn’t affect water temperature but was not swimmable now in winter when usually very hot. What a disappointment.
