Loved wandering around Pukekura Park, seeing the cricket ground, Bowl of Brooklands and lovely shrubs, trees and fauna - can't wait until next time!

Remembering
May 2021
Had lunch in the park and a walk around. Last time i was there was to play football, in the Duff Rose Bowl final many years ago. I had forgotten how beautiful the park is and we will visit more often when summer cones around. Great venue and a must see when in New Plymouth

Beautiful oark
May 2021 • Solo
This is a very nice, multi purpose space in the middle of town. There’s a beautiful lake, an outdoor concert venue, a sports arena and a very well maintained botanic garden. The gardens are beautiful with decorative bridges, a fountain, waterfall and various specialty gardens. The tea house is a lovely building also. It is visually wonderful, with a stunning view of Maunga Taranaki from the tea house.

The buggy tour made the trip
May 2021
Sitting in the tea house, we noticed a small electric vehicle doing tours. Since I was with my elderly mother who has limited mobility, we went out to investigate. For $5 each, we had nearly an hour's guided tour and super interesting commentary. The vehicle is small enough to get up the narrow tracks. This little tour made our trip.

This park has so much to offer, spent few hrs walking around exploring all that was on offer.
The beautiful water features and can be switched on via a control button, to the beautiful green houses, the open spaces host events I’m told, festival of the lights and live performances. Annoy wait to return in August 2021

Pukekura Park is a must for anyone visiting New Plymouth! It's central location right in the heart of the city makes it an ideal attraction for visitors and locals alike. It is rich with history and every attempt has been made to maintain its wonderful features. We visited on a hot sunny day and appreciated the many shady walks and seating areas. Sadly we were the wrong time of year to see the light show, but would love to return one summer evening when everything was lit up. Highlights for us were Poets Bridge, the waterfall and coffee at the kiosk! Our dogs, on leash accompanied us, and didn't disgrace themselves! Rubbish bins were handy.

A real treasure of the city
Mar. 2021
I have visited Pukekura park many times and am always inspired. This has to be one of the nicest parks in New Zealand. It is always so well kept and is a real treasure to the city. Lovely walking areas, beautiful trees and other flora. In particular at this time of year the display of begonias in the fernery was outstanding. This is a must to see when visiting New Plymouth.
