Lovely gardens to go for a stroll or to have a picnic. The rose garden is especially very pretty and there's no shortage of photo opportunities. The only disappointment is that the Museum is closed until further notice and is surrounded by temporary wire fencing...More

The roses were flowering so a visit tot he rose garden was very worthwhile. In spite of work obviously being done on the building it was still worthwhile to visit.

We liked the government gardens, from the geothermal activity and hot springs to the expertly manicured lawns for croquet and bowls to the Maori art and to the rose gardens. It is well worth stopping for a visit, and to grab some photos

Lovely walk around the gardens and to the waterfront. The exterior of the museum is lovely, too bad it has been damaged by earthquake and not open. Nice rose garden as well.
