Polynesian Spa is New Zealand’s leading international day spa. In a picturesque, tranquil setting overlooking Lake Rotorua, visitors can enjoy a wonderful fusion of relaxing hot spring pool bathing, sumptuous spa and massage therapies and picturesque lake views. Polynesian Spa has the use of two types of hot mineral water, one alkaline and one acidic, that are the unique point of difference of the operation. Many thousands of visitors to the spa have attested to the remedial effect the hot mineral waters have on such ailments as muscular complaints, arthritis and rheumatism. The Priest and Radium springs are most noted in this respect. We invite you to experience this World Top Ten Spa (natural/thermal/medical), as voted by readers of the prestigious Conde Nast Traveller magazine for several years and once again in 2011. We look forward to welcoming you to Polynesian Spa.

What can you say about these fantastic pools? It does what it says on the tin. A variety of mineral pools, different temperatures and different minerals. Not just good for the physical body, but also good for the soul. As someone who lives with chronic pain - I can say hand on heart that soaking every day here reduces my... More

Rotorua lies in a very active geothermal area, and hosts a number of spas: you cannot miss the wonders of a natural spa when you are in town! We went for the Polynesian Spa because our accommodation was very close to it, and because it ranks in the World top 10 spas. Admission fees change depending on the areas you... More

A must do, its a big place so even if its crowded it does not seem, they have 8 pools in each area. Do not forget to take off all you rings / jewelry. Relaxing experience, the infinity pool is awesome overseeing the thermal activity. Tip - Carry your own hotel towels, you'll save 20 dollars :)

We did the Romantic package but so much with floating skin and stuff in private pool. So can say the floating parts per litre would possibility of being over the standard for healthy level. So was less enjoyable than expected. But view & history was very interesting.

Dear Guest Thank you for your review. The composition of geothermal spring water is such that a number of the mineral elements are visible in the water, something which should indicate its authenticity. The fact that the pool you were in had water flowing in and out of it constantly should also assure you that what you witnessed was not... More

I had read some negative reviews of this place, it was pouring rain, and I was really struggling with the sulfur smell in Rotorua, but decided to go directly to the source of the smell anyway, and I'm glad I did. The smell didn't bother us at all once we were in the private pool, and we had an amazing... More

Must do experience, the mineral and healing waters left me with the skin feeling soft with a radiant glow . I enjoyed the late afternoon early evening as the sky was stunning and the birds hovered around. In the gift shop there was many great items to purchase my only regret was I did not buy more products, another excuse... More

I thought I'd treat myself to a massage on a wet and rainy weekend and thankfully was able to be fit in the same day I called. I'm a local and a regular, frequenting the Lake Spa for an AIX massage. Past experiences have been lovely, hence my continued return. This time however, I was left feeling ripped off and... More
