Wander the grounds and imagine what the village might have looked before the eruption in 1886. Very scenic and lots of uncovered artifacts and whares.

This is a fantastic tourist venue and well worth visiting. Learn the history and see where this village was buried by the Tarawera volcanic eruption. Where good walking shoes and give yourself plenty of time. Sit and have a tea/coffee afterwards.
