We had a delightful time on the trails as our guide Tom pointed out birds, trees, ferns, flowers, berries and seeds of note along with some history of the forest that made for an interesting and informative day. We had many questions which Tom was happy to answer with facts and good humor. We highly recommend this tour for anyone who likes to be outdoors and wants to experience an unusual forest. Tom is a wealth of knowledge on a variety of topics and is an excellent choice for seasoned veterans who want an expert on local flora and fauna.

There were 4 of us on an 8 day birding adventure. The trip was fabulous and exceeded everyone's expectations. We visited multiple ecosystems from both coasts, to forests to mountains. Lodging was wonderful and varied from cottages to nice hotels. Tom was wonderful at anticipating needs and abilities. He is very knowledgeable and fun. We saw many unique NZ birds and learned so much about their habitats and NZ. We visited public areas but were often the only people on the trails. I can't say enough positive about the unique areas that we visited. The Whirinaki Forest was like none other. I highly recommend this trip for birders and nature lovers.

I travel all Over the world looking at birds, and this was one day I will always remember. Not only was Tom lovely to be with, of course we had to invite him to our home in Texas, but he was one of the best guides we have ever had. He knew the botany and well as birds and he is also a great educator. Well worth every bit of time we spent with him and his amazing knowledge of nature. We were Lucky to find him!

Some days the birds ate with you. Always easy with great fun people. I'll be in touch and would live to come to Texas. ;-)

What a great day! My husband and will are over 65 and thought we had signed up for something too strenuous for us. We called the day before and expressed our concerns. To our delight they customized the itinerary for the day to include two shorter hikes with a naturalist. It was fantastic! Roi and Lee went out of their way to make us comfortable and ensure that we were enjoying our day at a pace comfortable for us. Thank you so much ! Highly recommend them!

Thanks Gus and Mike. We really want to ensure our clients have a great day out. Generally pur preferred mode is to go slow and point out the interesting things that make our forest unique. I am glad you enjoyed the experience.
