Our family of four turned up unsure of what to expect and feeling a little nervous. .. Our guide Mike had a hilarious sense of humour and together with his skills instructed us safely down the river, leaving us wanting more... Will definitely try this...More

The most exhilarating thing we did in NZ. The group are health and safety conscious and the level 5 trip was thrilling. Would recommend to anyone. Do listen and take off glasses and ear rings.

A well organised rafting adventure. We are a family of four with both kids in late teens. The staff were friendly and informative and the rafting was excellent. Although not as many rapids as previous experiences in Canada there were 2 waterfalls which were exciting...More

We hadn't done white water rafting previously, but we will be doing it again. The river rats team introduced us to it in the best way possible. They were professional but still fun. Mike guided as with Dave as our safety kayaker. It was a...More

As a former guide, I know a good rafting company when I see one, and River Rats fits the bill. The outfitter was well-organized and clean, and all the equipment was well taken care of and up to date. Our guide was professional, funny and...More

If you are ever in Rotorua, get yourself to River Rats (by the airport) stat! We were a bunch of 40+ (with one 50+) and we rafted the "highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world", being the Kaituna river. Oh yeah we did! It was...More

Very professional. Guides are second to none. Way better than at home. Did the 3-4 and afterwards wished we'd done the 5's. Go for it!

I needed a bit of coercing to do this with the hubby, but really glad that I did! As a non-swimmer, and first time rafter, needless to say I was a little unsure and anxious but comforted by many recollections of others who had never...More

The Twilight Kayak is a sea kayak trip on Lake Rotoiti. The trip is generally pretty placid but this does depend on wind. The White Rafting is in a raft on a river with rapids. The difficulty of the trip varies with the... More
