We did the bush walk this time starting across the road from the Waitangi Treaty Grounds and finishing at the Haruru Falls. We then walked beside the roadway to get back into Paihia. The round trip was about 10km. The falls were just as lovely...More

There are plenty of more exciting falls to see in NZ, but these are pretty and it is such a short walk from the car park to the view. There is also an optional walk through the Mangroves.

The Haruru falls is impressive and has a good lookout for people to rest and grab a bite. The area is a Kiwi Zone so no dogs are allowed there. However we were not lucky enough to spot any kiwi wandering :( . The kids...More

Close to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds it is worth a detour to visit. Very close to the main road and a nice easy walk. When the sun shines it can produce a lovely rainbow!

As we were staying at a park at the bottom of the falls we had a great view. We also walked to the top of the falls through the car park. It was good to sit beside the river in the sun and watch fish...More

The waterfall had plenty of water flowing when we visited. It is a very short and easy walk from the car park.

A nice horseshoe shaped falls. This is a short drive from the Treaty Grounds (or a bit of a long walk).

You can visit these falls by walking as little as 20 metres. Wheel chair accessible, gently sloping path. Falls are maximum of 3 metres high but quite wide. Very pleasant.

A lovely peaceful spot by the road-bridge and car park. I tried to cycle via the track from Paihia - which was certainly suitable for mountain bikes (if taking care for other pedestrians by going slow) - but barriers at either end of the track...More

No overnight camping at the car park that I could see when visited last week. There is the Falls Motel & Waterfront Campground on Puketona Road, perhaps look up their website if you’re still interested in a paid camp site...
