We loved visiting Esk Valley winery. The wines were delicious (our favourites were the Chardonnay and merlot blend) and the server was lovely. Would recommend

Went for a tasting with a mix of friends - some, like myself, experienced wine drinkers while others in our group it was their first time. Extremely knowledgable and lovely staff with an excellent range of wines. The late harvest Chenin Blanc was a standout!
Enjoyed the tasting and chatting with the member of staff. Not as commercial as many of the tasting rooms but that made it all the more charming.

You have to pay for tasting unless you buy wine. We found this policy inappropriate and unusual in Hawkes Bay. While this winery has a good range of interesting white wines, the reds were less impressive
