Nothing to see along marine parade, pretty boring. The pathway closer to the beach that runs from Bayview ( northern suburb) to Hastings city you can cycle, skatebord or run for miles looking out towards the ocean, which is always lovely whether still or wild....More

Cruising down Marine Parade in our 1920s tourer, our guide provided us with some remarkable historical information about the features we passed on along the way. The Parade itself is similar to other bayside avenues anywhere in Australia or New Zealand, none-the-less it is a...More

Loved seeing the sea as don't live near it. Lots of things to do & see here. Right near the city centre with lots of very good eateries around. Shingle beach similar to UK beaches.

We had previously visited Napier during late autumn and found the Marina Parade area somewhat underwhelming. However, our recent visit in late September was considerably more impressive, no doubt due to the many spring flowers that had bloomed, bringing the promenade to life during this...More

We were really lucky and struck sensational weather when in Napier, so this may have enhanced our experience somewhat. But, that said, Marine Parade is stunning. It's like a magical mystery tour - beautiful gardens, sculptures, minigolf, skate park etc. Loved it. Then you do...More

Yes you can. It’s about 10 minutes to walk to town centre or you can walk the other direction and walk to Ahuriri beach front, for cafes, and bars.
